Does this meen my compiter will work well with the Microsoft Windows 64-bit Vista, or am I completely wrong?

Thats what it means! As a matter of fact, you wouldnt be using your machine to its fullest capabilities if you didnt!

It will work with 64 bit Vista, providing there are 64 bit drivers available for the main board and other devices. It will run 32 bit applications generally at the same speed as via 32 bit Vista. You need programs compiled to use 64 bits to fully exploit working at the larger size. Some of these will run faster than when compiled for 32 bits.

As I understand it the AMD 64 is backward-compatible with with 32bit something that Intel's are not.

yes it will work, if you go to vista website you can download a programme to check your pc and recommend any upgrades you need for vista
