...what makes even one of the 6.5 billion tiny people living on this tiny planet, in this tiny galaxy of this immensly proportioned universe, think they've done something worthy of his/her/it's special attention?

Most of these posts are garbage. If you're not going to answer the question legitimately, at least crack a joke. Instead of proselytizing, answer the question.

Here's a good quote that answers that:

The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by God one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity. [Carl Sagan]

What is this consciousness? This consciousness is "I am." Then what am I? In contaminated consciousness "I am" means "I am the lord of all I survey. I am the enjoyer." The world revolves because every living being thinks that he is the lord and creator of the material world. Material consciousness has two psychic divisions. One is that I am the creator, and the other is that I am the enjoyer. But actually the Supreme Lord is both the creator and the enjoyer, and the living entity, being part and parcel of the Supreme Lord, is neither the creator nor the enjoyer, but a cooperator. He is the created and the enjoyed. For instance, a part of a machine cooperates with the whole machine; a part of the body cooperates with the whole body. The hands, legs, eyes, and so on are all parts of the body, but they are not actually the enjoyers. The stomach is the enjoyer. The legs move, the hands supply food, the teeth chew, and all parts of the body are engaged in satisfying the stomach because the stomach is the principal factor that nourishes the body's organization. Therefore everything is given to the stomach. One nourishes the tree by watering its root, and one nourishes the body by feeding the stomach, for if the body is to be kept in a healthy state, then the parts of the body must cooperate to feed the stomach. Similarly, the Supreme Lord is the enjoyer and the creator, and we, as subordinate living beings, are meant to cooperate to satisfy Him. This cooperation will actually help us, just as food taken by the stomach will help all other parts of the body. If the fingers of the hand think that they should take the food themselves instead of giving it to the stomach, then they will be frustrated. The central figure of creation and of enjoyment is the Supreme Lord, and the living entities are cooperators. By cooperation they enjoy. The relation is also like that of the master and the servant. If the master is fully satisfied, then the servant is satisfied. Similarly, the Supreme Lord should be satisfied, although the tendency to become the creator and the tendency to enjoy the material world are there also in the living entities because these tendencies are there in the Supreme Lord who has created the manifested cosmic world.

The Supreme Person must be present everywhere. His body existed before the creation; otherwise He could not be the creator. If the Supreme Person is a created being, there can be no question of a creator. The conclusion is that the cosmic manifestation is certainly created at a certain time, and the creator existed before the creation; therefore the creator is not a created being. The creator is Parabrahman, or the Supreme Spirit. Matter is not only subordinate to spirit but is actually created on the basis of spirit. When the spirit soul enters the womb of a mother, the body is created by material ingredients supplied by the mother. Everything is created in the material world, and consequently there must be a creator who is the Supreme Spirit and who is distinct from matter. It is confirmed in the Bhagavad-gétä that the material energy is inferior and that the spiritual energy is the living entity. Both inferior and superior energies belong to a supreme person.

In the çruti-mantra it is stated that the absolute whole, or Brahman, is the ultimate source of everything. Everything emanates from Him, everything is maintained by Him, and at the end everything enters into Him again. That is the law of nature. This is also confirmed in the småti-mantra. There it is said that at the beginning of Brahma s millennium, the source from which everything emanates is the Absolute Truth, or Brahman, and at the end of that millennium the reservoir into which everything enters is that same Absolute Truth. Material scientists haphazardly take it for granted that the ultimate source of this planetary system is the sun, but they are unable to explain the source of the sun. In Vedic literatures the ultimate source is explained; Brahmä is the creator of this universe, but because he had to meditate in order to receive the inspiration for such a creation, he is not the ultimate creator. As stated in the first verse of Çrémad-Bhägavatam, Brahmä was taught Vedic knowledge by the Personality of Godhead. In the first verse of Çrémad-Bhägavatam it is said that the Supreme Lord inspired a secondary creator, Brahmä, and enabled him to carry out his creative functions. In this way the Supreme Lord is the supervising engineer; the real mind behind all creative agents is the Absolute Personality of Godhead, Çré Kåñëa. In Bhagavad-gétä Çré Kåñëa personally admits that it is He only who superintends the creative energy (prakåti), the sum total of matter. Thus Çré Vyäsadeva neither worships Brahmä nor the sun but the Supreme Lord, who guides both Brahmä and the sun in their creative activities.

So Supreme Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna is the creator of everything, the cause of alla causes.

The fact that we are alive and get to experience the beautiful nature of this planet and get to share it with other beings, that truly is a beautiful blessing.

Learning the balance of life:
night & day
something good can never happen without something bad happening so it can be corrected...even though humans have ****** that several times because of disagreements (especially in religion).

Humans are sometimes too smart for their own good, and can't just share words of wisdom and life experience!

To know that I exist in right now and I can actually REFLECT upon that, and see the beautiful in everything, that is a blessing.

Of Course, only an Idiot would say otherwise, those who believe in evolution blind themselves with pseudo secularism because they do not want or believe in an "absolute" nor do they want anyone to place a set of rules upon them. these types of people use the childish and ridiculous arguments against God by saying that we are arrogant, it is arrogant and ridiculous to believe that the Universe just came into existence from "nothingness" God exists in Eternity without creation, (That answers a question that I know will be asked)
To think that this world, it's distance from the Sun, a perfect set of 4 seasons, light, gravity, water, and all that just evolved by chance is ridiculous.

I am one of those 6.5 billion people on this planet, in this galaxy, universe . . . and you ask what makes me (or anyone) ' special / worthy of Eternal special attention ? . . .

. . . I am not God . . . yet I am OF God. How can I not be special . . . I am already God...not God. . . but Of God.

A comparison for thought . . . Figuratively speaking...say God was the ocean. You take a droplet of that ocean and place it in this shell...this body and this body ' breaths to life '. I would not be the ocean itself. . . yet I would be OF the ocean. Being so closely a part of that ocean...how could I not be special. We are all part of the One. . . We are not the One itself. . .Yet we are OF the One. We were ' created ', yet where were we created from ? We were created from God...so we are OF that One source.

Each of us has the responsibility to honor, care for, respect and keep bright that ' droplet ' of the One that we are. When we do that...then we are being 'worthy', as you phrased it, of the One.

Man is not tiny. His body is smaller than a grain of dust in the universe, but his soul is greater than the cosmos. He has creative thinking while the cosmos has not. His mission is greater than any other creatures: to reflect the divine qualities of the One True God, the Creator of all worlds and all creatures. This truth is disclosed in various Holy Books of the Messengers of God.

God created the universe and set principles that will guide human kind and those principles have not changed. It is good to know that there is a universe because God enabled us to understand the inveronment we live in but the more we exist the more we question.

Because God loves each and every one of us. If not, why would He send his Son Jesus as a sacrifice for the atonement of our sins? John 3:16

You see God is even closer to the nerve in our neck,He loves us 10 times more than our mother,no doubt not many people are worthy enough for His attention but in the end He is God not us ordinary humans.
