How do you tell the difference between a friendly guy who likes a bit of a joke and someone who does actually like you?
He`s always been friendly and jokey but i was in a realationship so didn`t really notice. When asked if he`d like to take me for a drink he replied if she wants but i don`t know if he`s joking or not as i`m new to all this single and dating stuff, help?

I`m now thinking he didn`t want to sound rude by saying no as i could hear but when i mentioned this to my friend she seems to think he would have just made up an excuse like having a girlfriend already but maybe he thought it was just a joke,oh i`m so confused!!!

Look if you like him and want to see if things move forward, ask him? A lot of pressure is always put on the guy to make first move (then look an idiot if rejected!!!!) but we live in an age of equality women can and should make the first move. Unless you ask him outright you will never know, as you can never know what anyone else is thinking. Just be bold and do it at least you will know one way or the other. If it works out cool, if not well there is plenty more fish in the sea!

Sometimes it's hard to tell on both sides. It sounds like you both are somewhat confused. I think he's probably feeling the same way you are, so why not ask him out for a drink? You are already friends and joke around with each other a lot, so someone has to take the plunge. That way you will both know. Have a drink together, relax, joke, talk and see what happens from there. Good luck.

The best thing to do is call him and ask him to meet you somewhere for a drink. If he accepts, great. You'll know he's interested. Guys don't usually spend their money on you if they aren't interested. Find out what his interests are and go from there in the conversation.

Of he says no, or gives you an excuse, then tell him to give you a call when he has the time or if he wants to get together at a later time.

You know... ut's really hard work working out how peoples minds work and what their thinking... all that stuff gets really tiering and you more then likely end up getting the wrong end of the stick..

The best idea i always found is to be nice and direct and just sit down and say that your getting mixed impressions and you were just wondering if he liked you.. but only ask if you want to put yourself in the situation of him saying well yes i do.. lets get it on..

Well, if you really like him, why don't you just ask him out yourself. He sounds like he makes you laugh, so go out with him with friends maybe, just a night of entertainment. Just go for it - ask him if he would like to go out - playing games and beating around the bush is very highschool.

You'll just have to wait and find out...nobody knows what's on his mind but him...or you could ask straight up, or tell him you are interested in him and see what he says...
