This illustrates a problem with citing the Bible as the "Holy Word of God." The Bible as it is seen today is the end result of centuries of mistranslations, embellishments, alterations, and deletions all to serve the political interests of those then in power.
One infamous example is the deletion of a major portion of the book of Mark by Bishop Clement of Alexandria. This was another telling of the story of Lazarus; one with overtly homosexual origins. Bishop Clement excused this deletion with the comment that simply because something was true was no reason for everyone to know about it.

Another mistranslation which has occurred through the centuries was the replacement of "Soma", the Greek word for a body that is unconscious, with "Toma", a body that is actually dead, in the story of the crucifixion.

Yet another was the mistranslation of "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live" (which makes sense) into "thou shalt not suffer a witch to live" which led to millions of deaths during the medieval witch hunts.

Then there is the "Sang Rael" into "San Grael" that points to the greatest deletion of all.

The bottom line is that the new German translation proves that the Bible is not the literal word of God, but simply the work of man, shaped to meet the needs of the editors and publishers throughout history.

Hey, bible has longe since ceased to be anything in any connection with god whatsoever, it's just a smart tool and weapon in the hands of politicians, merchants and warlords.
Everybody interprets the bible as they wish, and if they can't justify it being interpreted in the was that suits them, they simply CHANGE it.
The same with this new translation. The new time demands political corectness - fine, let's cut the antisemitism and let's call the god a she. See? people are buying the book more now. Cool, more profit for the publisher.
Who cares about god these days, baby. They do, butonly if itbrings them one of the three:
fanatical support and/or popularity
political power,
money.

Wake up, amateur. Every Biblical Scholar know that the Bible contains errors, omissions, mistranslations and many other editing issues. Nothing new there just because you have been alerted. Yes, things were changed by those in power, because they WERE THE LEADERS OF THE FAITH and had the power and authority to do so. Plus, some of the issues you raise happened long before the Canonical Books were fixed. Those in a position to do so sometimes changed things to highlight their faith, this is a part of the reality of the Bible and does not make it invalid for those who believe, just more colorful. And hear is a news flash: those who think that the editing made the Bible LESS exciting are WRONG. Paul and his followers are the ones who made things MORE mystical, magical in the manner of a Greek Mystery Cult (Toma reflects this perfectly, then the Greek pagans could relate to the Jesus story), not LESS exciting (like the sangreal issue). The original words of Jesus and the original collection of his activities are much more mundane than you make them out to be.

So what is your question? -- As to the literal Word of God -- one only has read the word with the guidance of the Holy Spirit and then the true meaning from God will be know to them.

The underlying meaning behind this act is that people will believe and/or do ANYTHING, even assume they can speak for the 'supposed' creator of this universe, to fullfil their personal desire for an afterlife.

Because they made the bible a hand made book they changed its God-sent version . How sad to see this. Please do not get angry for my opinions . I am respectful to all kind of beliefs . These are just my opinions take care.
