Praying is talking to God. Stilling your mind, and allowing your self to quiet, and focus on Him and talking to Him; and also being quiet so you can hear Him speak to you. The Bible says that God's voice is a small still familiar voice. That His sheep know His voice. I often hear God in my mothers voice. Probably because God uses tones that we find comforting. I know it is Him speaking to me, because he is way smarter than me, and what He says always lines up with His word, which is the Bible.
