I'm 19 and I go to the U.S. Naval Academy. I'm about 6'2'' 161, nice smile, dark eyes, darker complexion, but caucasian. I'm a freshman which means I don't get out much due to restrictions and I only get about 10 hours on Saturday's to myself. I'm sort of looking for a girlfriend right now but I don't know how to start. Also, whenever we leave the campus, I have to wear my uniform. Is this helping or hurting my chances? Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Sounds like you wouldn't have a problem finding a girlfriend, you nice looking, you wear a uniform (some girls like that), also if there is a girl for you she could wait for weekends to see you, don't worry when you meet a girl, you will know exactly what to do, just be yourself and don't rush things, good luck!

My cousin went to the Naval Academy. There was a family in the area that "adopted" him. It's a program that the Naval Academy promotes and encourages for the mental health and stability of the midshipmen. You should participate in that program. Then your "host" family can arrange some meetings with local girls. Believe me, a handsome man in uniform will not be alone long.

But seriously, I'm sure you can meet someone. Where are some of the places you like to go on your time off on Saturday? Even just a coffee shop or bookstore. It seems you have internet access. You could try meeting someone that way, as well.

IT's when you are looking that you don't find someone or you hook up with the wrong kind of person. Hey some girls love a guy in uniform. You don't want to change who or how you are to get a girl. THen you won't know if they like you for you.

I don't know about where to find someone suitable for this (unless you go to a dating site, that way they're clear on the deal from the start), but I guess you'd have to be careful when you're out re: behaviour with a girl as you'd still be representing the Academy. So start by finding a respectable girl online!

women love a man in uniform so that can't hurt your chances. Also I don't think you should be searching for a girlfriend, the old saying about how it happens when you least expect it is very true. Don't look for her and she will find you, concentrate on your studies! Good luck!!
