Their site doesn't say anything about quarantine and the ones that do are specific to whatever country you're traveling from.

There is no quarantine at all, you can even bring your dog with you on the plane, but you have to have a licence and a pet passport.

Go on the DEFRA website, which will give you all the information you need to export/pet passport your dog.

I brought 4 dogs over from England to Spain and no problems whatsoever, very easy to do.

One of my students is just getting ready to make the move from the US to Spain. She has to go through a bunch of certifications of health and such but she said her Lab wont have to go through a quarantine period. As with everything else do the research through the correct agencies for the most accurate info.

No time in quarantine going but 6 months coming back unless you get it rabies vaccinated and get a pet passport.

First get the dog its rabies jab.Then start the process of the pet passport. The incubation period of rabies is 6 months, so you wont be able to move the dog abroad for that time anyway.

Get your dog rabies vaccinations and it won't need to go to quarantine at all. Much better for the dog, because they're hell holes those places.

No time whatsoever. Its only coming back thats the problem. The U.K. doesn't suffer rabies.
The best thing to do is get a dog passport (no I'm not making it up)
this will allow easy travel between E.U. countries.

Contact your vet ASAP, it ccan take 6 months to get the pet passport, the rabies shots are the ones that take the time.
And here's the DEFRA site;

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=DEFRA+%2Bpet+passport+%2B+UK+to+Spain&btnG=Google+Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB

You need to keep the passport up to date in case you ever need to bring your dog back from Spain.
