I have been around critters all my life and have seen psyco kitties and deranged dogs, but never anything like this!
When she greets you, she starts out head first, then she folds herself and turns her butt toward you.If I sit on the floor, she will lay down beside me with her butt faceing me.I continually tell her that we don't want to pet her butt,we want to pet her head.....I think she laughs at us! its a bunghole sabbatoge! somebody help me??

Lol, my dogs do that. They don't exactly put their butt in my face, they just put their back-end by me and look at me with big eyes >> it just means they want a little scratch above the tail. I think they have something there like a sensitive point, like behind their ears they have oil glands or something. I've noticed that on dogs' backs where the tail begins they have a little bump of fur there, thats where they like a scratch.
If you mind your dog doing it then ignore her and she'll probably stop. My dogs are boys so i'm not sure if it's a female thing ...

LOL-we have one dog who we say always 'fights with his butt'! He does the same thing yours does. Not all of them do this, but I think when certain dogs do it, its another type of dominance display, or a challenge. Our dog will also 'push' our other dog with his butt.

Probably your dog is suffering from hemorroids and is in desperate need for help. Your dog might just be attempting to show you the damege done already. Take it to a vet for christ sake! Just kidding, I´ve got a dog too and he´s just weird sometimes. Regards, Gabriel.

Hee hee! Funny! My dog does the same. I just think it harks back to the bad old, wild days (not that modern dogs have a lot of their old wild ways - it's been bred out of most of the freakoid pedigrees we have around now!). Anyway, in the old days, it was a way of saying 'hello, who are you? what have you been up to?!' She is being friendly. I'll bet she is a lovely dog!!

My dog does the same thing, I believe the behavior is traced back in the wolf ansester as a sign of submissivness. So apparently she knows who his/her parent is. lol
