always go for a neutral colour hun, a nice cream carpet will lighten up the room plus it will go with anything should u decide to redecorate or change ur furniture.
Or maybe go the opposite and try a nice chocolate colour.
I recently redecorated my room and went for cream and choc walls with red woodwork and a nice cream carpet. these colours seem to work well together.
Good Luck Hun.x

I would play safe and get a nice neutral shade, perhaps a pale coffee - it'll go with most colour schemes so if you redecorate, you won't have to change the carpet.
I don't think either white OR grey will work - both are cool colours, and your red and maple are both warm - keep to a warm palette. Just remember if you go for a very pale carpet, it's going to be a nightmare to keep clean - one dropped lipstick and you're screwed!

I agree with the first answer. Light coffee, mushroom, taupe or anything in tans or camel go well with almost any color you choose for the walls. Camel and red are really pretty together and it makes the room look and feel cozy. If later you choose a jade or a rich blue then your carpet will still be just the right color.

well i think it depends on your personality to suit the colour scheme and whether you are looking for any colour therapy.
if u want more of a soothing mood, might i suggest using ivory/cream preferably with dark brown patterns.
if you are new urban chic, try pure white with orange patterns. (or mayb polka dots for tt spunky feel)
if u are rather eccentric or always deep in your thoughts, go for dark purple. this wld b kind of victorian.
if you love oriental style, go for black with those sort of peacock patterns(purple, green, gold), black and gold, or get those turkish carpets.
hope tt helps! =)

Definitely, go neutral. Stick with something in the beige/brown color scheme.
