My boyfriend and I have been together for a month and everything is perfect between us... except for our sleeping arrangement. When we sleep in the same bed he lets me know in the mornings that i was snoring. I mean, i know i snore sometimes; but i have other family members that shake the house down when they snore so i know i am not THAT bad. At first i laughed it off and appologised and told him to nudge me a lil next time. But now things are getting bad. I dont know if its just me because i am a sensitive person, but he is waking up exhausted in the mornings and always has to mention something about me figiting when i sleep or about my snoring. He always tells me how much he likes me and how this stupid little thing will never ruin us... but i am really worried right now because i like him so much and i want him to be happy to sleep with me. He snores too by the way! I just am not loosing sleep over it. I want to know if there is something i can do to keep him happy and well rested

You should have a chat to your doctor about it, sometimes snoring can be an indication of a fixable problem.
I have to say I do feel for your boy, My ex snored like a freight train, i would frequently move to the couch halfway through the night just to get a bit of shut-eye (although i could still hear him, even from down the hall) It wasnt the reason we broke up but it was very stressfull, especially because he didnt really think it was a big deal. Also, we fought alot more often because I was just so tired and grumpy all the time.
So yeah, have a chat to your doctor, but do it for yourself not just him. I remember reading somewhere that people who snore have a lower quality of sleep than non-snorers so if you are able to fix the problem you may find added health benefits for yourself.
Good Luck & Best Wishes for the future.

This is what you do. Get a little parcel together, you shold get the breath rites nasel strips and a bunch of those soft yellow or orange ear plug. If you buy a card with a snoring bear on it it will be funnier. Put them in a cute package and give them to him. When he opens it then tell him that the ear plugs are for him and the strips are for you.

These ear plugs work great because they fit any ear and they are reusable.

By making a little joke of it this might help you get over being sensitive about it. And dont beat yourself up over it because i would feel the same way if i were you.lol.

I would suggest you get this sorted out as soon as you can, or you might end up breaking up over it. Your boyfriend may be being polite at the moment but if he keeps losing sleep, he won't be around for long.

Although it seems excessive, snoring has been the cause of many break ups I know of, because if you miss out on your sleep and are tired most of the time, then other little problems become unecessarily major issues.

There are remedies you can buy from the chemist that are supposed to help abate snoring.
However, I dont think you need to worry to be honest. My cousin snores like a trooper and he was going to have an operation to cure this so that he could give his wife a peace of mind. However, she decided that she didnt want him to go through with it as she was scared that the operation would have some other repercussions. I dont know how she managed to sleep next to my cousin as it really was loud but she did eventually get used to it. Therefore I believe your partner will eventually get used to it and will even help him sleep, a bit like a comfort call! But if it is starting to annoy him, visit a chemist and see if any of the remedies work.
Good luck!

Don't let your insecurities get the best of you.

My husband snores like a bear..It keeps me up at times.. but i would n't trade him for the world!!

Try breathe right strips.. they help open your airways so you don't snore (they also come in clear sweetie so don't worry about how they look)

Try sleeping on your stomach or on your side because most people who snore often sleep on their backs or try nasal strips to open the passage to help you breath more easy .

Perhaps it would be better if he fell asleep first, and then your snoring might not wake him.
I have friends who sleep in seperate bedrooms because of his snoring.
