Stepper motor is an indexed motor it moves by discrete steps Extremely accurate motion control is possible with this technology. Servomotors are torque motors with a feedback mechanism. These are very smooth operation for analogue sensitive applications. For example playing music. You want the music to play smoothly, not jerk by steps. Advancing the paper in a printer, you want discrete line feed, not a little more this time, a little less next…each lines have the same pitch. Hope this properly answers your question Guru
