Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

If salvation is a gift, then why do so many preach that you must stop sinning to be saved?

You do not stop sinning to be saved---you become saved so that you can sin less. Salvation does not guarantee that you will stop sinning----it merely means that your original sin has been forgiven you, that you can enter God's kingdom. It is a transformation in which the old man dies and you become a new creation in Christ. Preachers that preach that a person must give up sin before they can be saved do not know what they are talking about. Once a person becomes saved he is expected to change his life and work for the Lord in whatever he does. God will give no man a license to sin, but if a man sins, then God is just to forgive him if he confesses that sin and repents. A believer cannot loose his salvation, but every sin has its consequences.

Gift!.... Its more like the gift of awareness.

The knowledge that God does not require human or animal sacrifices -is the gift!

Oh! I don't need to sacrifice my livestock any more ? Cooool. Would this not be a gift! All I need is belief in God; thats all, WOW! Put yourself in there shoes.

They preach stop sinning because thats what they have been taught to teach. Nobody is perfect, so everybody sins.

Keep this in mind: You start off in heaven, where you have left off on Earth. If for example ; You have a first grade education, then you will begin your new life, as a second grader; not! a twelfth grader.

So learn more; sin less.

Skip a grade through hard work, end up in third grade if you work hard now. Love, be kind, etc... This is your reward.

I feel I have not articulated this subject well; nevertheless, I hope it helps.

Peace....

Faith is an undeserved gift from God. We all sin and fall short of the mark but if we truly want to belong to God the Holy Spirt will fill our hearts and we will do all in our power not to offend Him in any way.

To say you are saved because you repeated some words while feeling emotional and think you can continually do things that offend God you are deceiving yourself.

Faith is an ever growing relationship with God and a true commitment to Him. If you are sincere, God will do the work in your heart and your desires and bad actions will change, you will fall, you will sin but He will always pick you up and forgive you just as any good parent would do. It's all about a two way loving relationship.

Simple, we preach for people to hear and know about this free GIFT, for the bible says faith can only come through the hearing of the (preaching)word of God, and the word of God is free so is the gift of salvation

I think that you got it right. Notice how many would disagree.

I was taught that one of the problems is that James was preaching the 'Works' message, and Paul was most of the time preaching the Faith message. Modern Christians typically attempt to reconcile the two. Whereas, I know that James had the wrong message.

Short answer, because they are heathen (or idiots). The Almighty YHVH set up a system. He sent His “Son” YAHOSHUA to die for the sins of mankind so they would not have to. (They could choose to, but did not have to). Any person who chooses not to allow Yahoshua to take care of their sins, chooses to remain attached to their sins. They thus will wind up in the lake of fire which is YHVH’s method of cleaning this world, and eliminating sin and sinners. The Creator set aside the Seventh day for rest and worship. Yes that is the day usually called “Saturday”. We are not saved by obedience, we are saved by faith. However we are saved FOR obedience. As He said in John 14:15 (and in many other places) “If you love me, keep my commandments.

Churchianity is a pagan religion. The only thing that will change a person is the indwelling savior Yahoshua. Obviously that is rare in this sinful world.
