I used to feel the same way...One day I cry out loud to God Almighty and ask Him whats really wrong with me?And I realized that it was because I lack self esteem...Be confident,smile alot,stay trendy ,neat and fresh all the time,Be a little bit modest-for you to be unique-,And be spiritually involved to GOD.

The biggest problem is not how you look, it's how you present what you have. You have to think about your best assets, and present them in such a way as to make the guys fall all over each other to talk to you. And NO, I am not talking about dressing sleazy, I mean to dress and act in such a way that guys will notice you.
What do the popular girls do differently?
Here are a few things that drive the guys crazy...
If you have long hair, brush it out in front, instead of just letting it hang down your back.
If you have great legs, show them off.
If you have beautiful shoulders, (good skin / wide shoulders) wear a top that shows them off.
Of course you need to think about your best facial feature, and emphasize it.

There is probably nothing wrong with you.
The guys might think you are prettier than the other girl, and are intimidated by you thinking that they don't have a chance.

They problem isn't with you hun...(most) guys suck and are superficial. It sounds to me you are in high school...if not early college. Guys who are with girls for the way they look aren't with those girls for the right reason. You will find someone someday who will like you for you and not just your looks.
ps- This girl seems like she's in her prime...she'll never be more pretty, or more popular. Keep that in mind ::winks::
