I worked at a nursing home for 6 years, I never saw God. I saw a lot of people in agony screaming for mercy and to have their pain taken away crying for their God to just let them die.

That is because Christians refuse to let terminally ill people in agony die. They would rather prolong their agony. Absolutely sickening.

I have seen death. I have seen great pain and suffering. I thought faith was supposed to be based on love, not fear. I refuse to live my life by fear. I try to live each day to the fullest because I know I am not guaranteed anymore. I don't believe in god, but I do believe in life.

Ah yes, one of the worst reasons of all for believing in a god - fear of your own mortality. I'm glad when people say things like this because it only goes to confirm that religious belief is based on nothing more than wishful and fearful thinking, rather than having any basis in reality.

SO, we should believe in God out of fear? That's an interesting thing to suggest.

But if you're right, and fear of death is enough to convert atheists, why should they choose your god over all the over countless gods?

God is a fictional character of many ancient middle eastern tales and legends that bronze age goat herders use to tell each other at night around the camp fire , playing to scare each other.
It's wonderfull to see that it scan still scare you :-)
Have you herded any goats lately ?

i live in a city (LONDON,UK) WHERE I HAVE SEEN MANY ACCIDENTS, DEATHS and pain! i am an atheist, but i feel for all those who suffer, i wish for a better world, a place of peace, love and happiness. But it will never happen as long as their are religious zealots and fanatics out there, from all religions, preaching intolerance and hatred, we should ALL be understanding and tolerant of all people and their belief systems!!!

so many faiths, too many gods, plenty of prophets and lots of sons of 'God' - and WORSE - so many many 'bibles' to read - sometimes you have to wonder if it is all just a 'fairytale'...

Everyone is scared to die.

But its inevitable, and its the only guarantee you have in life.

You shouldn't be afraid of the divine...you sound like a preacher from the Puritan days...

It's a shame your god couldn't be bothered to do anything for the kid. If that doesn't wake the theists up it's unlikely anything would.

For me what you say is proof enough of God's non-existence.
