Ive heard that eating too many eggs per week is really bad for you, but then other people say it is only pregnant women that cannot eat eggs. whats the truth? i could easily eat 3 eggs a day as they are low in calories and great for dieting... but is this too much??

They are low in calories but bad for cholestrol. That is why you aren't recommended to eat more than one a day.

(That's what I remember hearing, I'm no dietician)

Using egg whites instead of an entire egg will cut out the fat and cholestoral from the egg. As long as your cholestoral isn't high, there really isn't anything wrong with eating eggs 7 days a week. Removing the yolk will cause you to lose alot of the nutrients from the egg, but you will still recieve most if not all of the protein. Egg white omelettes are a great way to diet and get some protein in the morning.

There is a lot of nonsense about eggs. A big study was conducted recently where people ate up to eight eggs a day without any adverse effects oncholesterol, blood pressure etc. Only thing they are likley to do is make you constipated so make sure you get plenty of fibre if you eat a lot of eggs.

It all depends on your genetics.

If you (or your family) are pre-disposed to having a high cholestorol you need to limit them.

If you currently eat 10 eggs a day and have no cholestorol problems it is probably safe. Get you cholesterol checked from your GP.

I eat 4 - 6 a day and exercise a lot, but have no cholestorol problems.

You can do a yahoo search' bad cholesterol and eggs' and see that most topics will tell you they are not bad for you.

I have read that if you suffer from high cholesterol then three eggs would be too much as the fat is in the yolk . But one a day apparently is no problem but you must watch what you are eating along with the eggs e.g. butter hope this helps.

Eggs are heavy in cholesterol, so try not to eat too many. I had a heart attack three years ago, and was advised, among other things, to have a maximum of two per week.
