Poor sad Gimps Mind!

All you need to do is dye your carpet brown and wear Wellies.

Much more practical and cheaper than all those nappies.

P.S. Is this the dead dog that attacked you?

First of all take him to the vet and be sure that the reason he can't wait to go outside is not a physical problem. Once that is established, you can begin house breaking. Take him outside immediately after he wakes up in the morning, immediately after he eats his dinner and just before bedtime. Try feeding him in the morniing so the food has time to pass through him during the day. Crate training also works but you have to be very careful not to leave him in the crate for hours on end. Breaking this habit may take some time and certainly some patience but it will work as soon as he gets the idea that's what you want him to do. Dogs love your approval so keep some dog cookies handy and as soon as he does his business outside give him a cookie, a pat on the head and make a big fuss over him. He'll like that a lot better than your disapproval when you see the mess on the carpet and he will respond. IGNORE NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR - REWARD POSITIVE BEHAVIOR.

Whats the problem with locking him out of the room with the cream carpet?

There's other ways than a nappy

A nappy - thats abuse! dogs are like kids - you train them to go in the proper place

Cream carpet in a house with pets or kids is a daft idea to start with - your real problem is you need a routine - training. you will need to change or get your carpet cleaned tho - the smell will be there probably in the floor boards too so he'l associate that spot with the place to go.

If its an old dog it might hav a problem. Does it get enough excersise? What do you feed it?

Also try not to go nuts at him when hes naughty, make extra fuss when hes good, so train him to go outside then reward him when he does. Check out books by Victoria Stilwell - its me or the dog she's got a tv prog too.

i dont think it is wrong if u ar prepared 2 change the dogs nappy everytime he goes toilet, and i think it will look really wired 2 other ppl who see the dog all the time with the nappy on lol, just keep trying 2 train him 2 go where u want 2 go and keep using the nappy if it makes u feel better,
honestly if u r persistant and show ur dog where 2 go it will take no time at all and ur dog will learn...
if u need help on how 2 toilet train ur dog just give us an email or look it up on google
good luck!!!!

You should take time to train your dog properly. Really go back to basics and take your dog out every couple of hours and straight away upon waking up and after eating. Also make sure you wash your carpet in biological washing powder to get rid of the smell so he doesn't keep going back to the same spot in your house. (colour test an inconspicuous part of the carpet first).
Training a dog takes a lot of time and patience.

Why not house train him? Since it seems you have no clue how, go to the library and check out some books on training a dog. It really is not hard to do. You walk the dog till it goes, then you praise the dog for doing so.
