It would be a lot easier if people would come straight out and tell you they like you… why don’t they do it?

fear of rejection, embarrassed and not wanting to show u the real them, the need to guard their hearts, afraid of being hurt. wanting to make sure they don't make a fool of themselves before knowing u like them too.

b/c most of the time the other person has sent mixed signals and one minute they act like they are SO into you and the next they are distant ... like as in only a friend ,different. so maybe the fear of rejection and/or commitment to that one person overrides their success in coming straight out and saying what is on his/her mind concerning what he/she may think about the other person

would you? and ehm after rejection, would you continue? That happens after a few too many beers to some people.. They declare their love for almost everybody in the bar :-)

Because after many times of that person saying "thats nice but i dont like you", it sort of hurts and we learn to find it out first before we humiliate ourselves. I do agree though we should be more honest and take more risks.

Because it's risky.
If you tell someone and he doesn't respond in kind, it can be quite embarrassing - crushing even.
It's easier to wait for the other person to say it.

maybe they are shy.... i cant come right out and tell someone.. also they may fear rejection if they tell u they like you and u dont feel the same way back... its embaressing for ppl.
