It's called Lent and is a religous period stretching from Shrove Tuesday to Easter and the idea is people give up one thing they truly enjoy for the entirety of the time to mark the supposed 40 days and 40 nights that Moses led his people through the desert with very very little to reach their promised lands.

The word is LENT. Lint is the fluff you find in your belly button.
Lent is a fast - for example traditionally,Greek Orthodox people fast for 40 days leading up to Easter where they abstain from meat and dairy. Part of religious beliefs and customs from the days of the Bible writing.

Perhaps you mean LENT !!!

so many faiths, too many gods, plenty of prophets and lots of sons of 'God' - and WORSE - so many many 'bibles' to read - you have to make your own choice!!
