When you are going to burn your adulterous Population according to biblical advise?
Genesis
38:24 And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she [is] with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

A priest's daughter, if found to have lost her virginity without marriage, can receive the death penalty, but in the form of incineration.

How many fundamentalist priests who so easily condemn others would carry out the burning of their daughters if they found them "whoring"?

I'm not really sure what kind of answer you're looking for...or maybe you're looking for a debate, which in that case, this won't really help you.

But, I will say this...
The old testament is a history book of God's people and we can learn a lot from those scriptures today. I'll be honest, it's hard to wrap your head around some of the things that happened in those days. I can't understand why people acted the way they did or re-acted the way they did in certain circumstances and there are many occasions that I question why God would have made the decisions that he did and respond the way he did, but I guess I find a way of coping with these questions through the fact that Jesus was revealed through the happenings of the Old Testament.

Jesus, coming to be our Lord and Savior was the New Testament...the new way of life and freedom. Christians do not follow the old law of the Old Testament, because Jesus came to fulfill the law. A "Christian" is a follower of Christ, by definition. So Christians would (hopefully, yet continuously fail to do this whole-heartedly) follow the example of Christ, not the law of the Old Testament.

Hope this helps you on your journey of understanding.
All the best,
-emay

Question: are you truly looking for an answer, or are you trying to "throw stones"? In that I suspect the latter, I'll keep my response brief:

People often quote Mosaic laws and attempt to personalize them in application. However, many of the things written in Pentateuch are not part of moral law, they are part of the civil code...the theocracy. True, there are some laws that are difficult for us to relate to (3,000+ years later)....but we should be hesitant to criticize something just because it might seem unclear today.

One of the amazing things about the people in the Bible is that they are portrayed exactly as they were: flawed human beings. There isn't a sugar-coating of greatness/perfection on any individual. In the section you quoted from Genesis, Judah was shown to be an imperfect person as well. Though he made that pronouncement against Tamar, what happened? He was ultimately shown that he was no more virtuous than she was. In short, he was wrong for what he said....

Millions of Muslims demand a double standard: the slightest questioning of Islamic practices or teachings or political or social expansion is greeted with violence and s destruction butviolence done in the name of Ismam and slanders/libels of other religions and ideologies are applauded American Leftists tend to be quite tolerant of criticisms, misrepresentations and slanders of Christianity , especially Catholicism, but are totally intolerant of even fearing Muslim extremists as the NPR firing of Juan Williams shows

If you're a student of the Bible, try reading the New Testament. You always seem to quote from the Old Testament.
Jesus Christ is the New Testament.

The old law was fullfilled when Jesus came back. We do not practice that kind of discipline now. Just like we do not sacrifice animals for our sins. There are many many more verses that discuss the matter. I suggest you look into the other verses.

Christians believe the New Testament. The Old testament is a history of the Jews. NO ONE BELIEVES THEM ANYMORE.
