I also think God could be a cockroach because even though they are nasty they are able to withstand anything.

I'm a bit insulted by the characterization of Satan as a snake.
That's such an old christian mess. The serpent is one of the symbols of druidism. It stands for wisdom. The whole mess of Eve and the snake was created to destroy the idea of women being wise because they were the healers and priestesses of druidism right along with the men. When the bible was written, it was at a dark time in history when men were considered dominant and women chattel and it was dangerous for them to have knowledge. Therefore women were blamed for the entire fable of being thrown out of paradise, and etc. Not blaming just the christians for this one, many religions still ban their women from learning the faith ( what are they afraid of ? ).
If there is a God, and or Satan ( I don't believe either exist as entities personally ).. then my best estimation of their animal forms for the way in which I believe you must see them would be a dolphin for God, and a human for Satan.

It is interesting to see that so many peeps referred to God as a lion but the Word clearly states that Satan roams around like a lion ready to devour, destroy and kill all in his path. And although someone butchered Genesis with their own interpretation of the snake in the garden with adam & eve : i think it's more metaphorical that Satan slithers about infiltrating himself into all sorts of societal providences such as media & literature & self-exploration junk for example.
So any creature that kills and maims and destroys for pure pleasure - oh that would be man (and woman so I don't step on any feminist toes).
God, on the other hand, is omnipresent, omniscent. He's everywhere - all over the place - at all times. Kinda like mircrobes and those tiny little microscopic things we can't see but know they are there. Although not very majestic - but more effective.
That's my answer - thanks!

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.
The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.
Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.
Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.
Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.
