I eat realtively fast and I know that's not good...I want to "learn" to eat slowly but everytime I have the food infront of me I'm hungry so I eat it fastly. I do tell to myself, chew the food, chew, chew, chew and I do that for some time but then I forget about it because I start thinking about other things and I'm just where I started.

What should I do?

Put the fork down between every bite. Don't watch tv while you are eating. And try to eat with someone else. It is harder to eat fast while having a conversation. Good luck!

You need to make a conscious effort to chew each mouthful 30 times. Its also helpful if you take smaller bites, still chewing it 30 times. It not only helps you to slow down, its better for digestion, and it gives your brain more time to figure out that you are full. Most of us continue to eat and we are technically already full, but it takes a few minutes for out brain to tell us that. This is something that I learned in weight watchers years ago, and its very helpful to people who are dieting, but I would imagine that it would be helpful in learning to slow down as well. Good luck

In MacDonalds during really busy hours, sometimes they put loud and fast music on. The effect is people start chewing fast and hense they finish and leave for the next customers.

So, I don't know if this will work but may be if you put slow music on, you'll chew slower.

Put a sign in front of you at dinner reminding you to chew your food and eat slowly. It should help you.

You may want to check out the Slow Food International movement. It's a group dedicated to combatting the "fastness" of modern life and the declining enjoyment of simple pleasures such as dining. Check out their website - no need to become a card-carrying member or anything.

Hi
find a talkative girl friend, have someting to eat with each other, and ask her to check that you are in a slow manner by asking you to respect her by a face to face contact while she is talking to you! I wish if you can eat any thing!!!!

I'd suggest that you have your jaw wired shut. This way you can only eat a small amount of ground food at a time. Just shove it on your mouth between your teeth ad swallow.
