In February 1989, the Ayatollah Khomeini pronounced a death fatwa on Salman Rushdie after publication of Rushdie's book The Satanic Verses. To this day, despite pleas from human rights organizations and the global community, good Muslims seek Rushdie's death.

This man wrote a book. That was it. And he's been in exile since 1989 with a death warrant on his head. Is this the price you pay for opposing Islam? You decide.

there is nothing to decide! the bottom line is that the book is great ! fiction and truth ! Salman Rushdie is in hiding because of these murdering bastards! the list of threats to one or another is beyond your wildest dreams! and the funny thing is , is that should you decide to speak up the thumbs down ferry comes! they never have anything creative to say ! its always oh *where did you get your false info from* or "your just hate Muslims" and and and .
the reality is that I have never seen more people whine in my life as much as fundamentalist Muslims! on the other hand ,today you dont even have to write a book to be targeted !

AND I LOVE THAT BOOK SALMAN WROTE! I OWN IT IN HARDCOVER .does this mean that there is a death warrant out on me too?

Get your facts right ..before you post a question ..
don't just do it because you think people who hate Islam will reply in droves,,
Firstly the death sentence was remover by the succeeding government to Khomeini .
Salman Rushdie .has made his millions .and now travels the world in comfort without being afraid of being attack by
any Muslim radical ,,
Salman made his fortune by bad mouthing Muhammad (pbuh) it wasn't some thing he believed ..he knew being a of a different faith him self .that what he will wright would cause a controversy .typically when prolonged and public.. he is a opportunist greedy pig ,
You don't worry in defending him ..he has more people around to protect him then you had hot dinners ..
Because of what he did,, other Innocent people lost their lives and injured ,,
because KKK is a fcukup organisation ,,are all the Christians the blame .???

Better not doing so, because it is the relgion of God like Judaism, Christianity...
The One True God will deal justly with all people, both believers and non-believers. We have no knowledge and power to do the divine job of judgement. The best thing we can do is to judge ourselves and make due correction.

Yeah, CJ Reports, You Decide!
Interesting how you generalize it to "good Muslims". Not everyone wants to kill/pursue him. And I disagree with Ayatullah's supposed fatwas or whatever.
If he dislikes Islam, it is his business, not ours. If that were the way, a lot of users on yahoo answers would be on death row.
Stop spreading hatred, please.
Cheers & Peace.

The Qur'an condemns killing innocents. Ayatollah Khomeini had a very perverted understanding of Islam.

What is your question?

I think his "crime" was apostasy; i.e., he converted from Islam to other faiths.

Whether "good" Muslims are the ones kill apostates or not is a matter of debate. Lots of Moderate Muslims have MAJOR issues with all the dictatorial militant muslims, effectively stiffling debate.
