Absolutely!! Don't get caught up in what people will think, or what family members might say. (we know that our family can sometimes be less supportive than outsiders). He needs to know that his mom supports him, if he likes it, then so be it.

I have three boys and I support everything that they do. At age 6 my middle son told me that his favorite color is pink, I taught myself how to knit and made him his own pink cuddle blanket. He's 9 now and pink isn't his favorite color anymore but he still cuddles with that blanket every now and again. He'll be fine.

Sounds like a lot of fun so go ahead and encourage him. Both my sons did some dancing at school. I think it is a very good idea and wish there had been more of it when they were school age.

If he's sincere about this, and it sounds like he is, then by all means, support his enthusiasm for it. It's hard enough to get some kids interested in extra-curricular activities these days so when one does show interest, they ought to be applauded, not automatically dumped into some out-dated, closed-minded stereotype. Allow him to enjoy this time in his childhood without putting any kind of label on him, some kids just like to dance...it's great exercise and socialization at the same time.

Absolutely! If he enjoys dancing and has expressed an interest in dancing then why not?

Its exercise, his social skills will no doubt improve and he will no doubt be happier for it!

I would let him says how far he wants to go with it though, as he may just wish to dance for fun rather than in any competitions etc.

Hope he enjoys it!!

Definately. If he is interested in dance and wants to take classes, by all means let him. It is a great way for kids to get exercise and have fun!

Why not? Your son's life should be about enjoying things he is good at, not being pushed in to some stereotype.

If he likes it let him go. it will teach him coordination, and if people, and you know they are out there make stupid little comments tell them to go to hell! you are supporting your son in this.

Nothing wrong with that.
Dance classes will also help with flexibility and coordination.
