Just wash your hair every other day. Your hair will obsorb more natural oil without product.

I also use Bubble to Bubble hair mask once a week and that really helps!

If you have european hair then I would not advise putting oil on it every night. If you have Afro hair then yes it would work but you need to buy specialist stuff from a hairdresser.

If you have very dry hair , I would ask why? Do you dye it? If so then make sure that when you do the roots you only do the regrowth and not the rest of the hair. Make sure you eat a balanced diet and drink plenty of water as the first place to show dehydration is the hair and skin. Buy a deep conditioning mask (I like the Aussie 3 minute miracle) and use it every time you condition your hair. Don't overwash your hair - twice to three times a week is fine, unless you work in a chip shop or coalmine your hair will not get dirty enough to need washing every day.

Wash your hair at night instead of morning so that you can allow your hair to dry naturally avoiding heat treatments which will dry out your hair further. Don't use straighteners or heated rollers. Use a leave in conditioner (I like the small orange sunsilk bottle) when you do your hair on the ends to tame the frizz and help condition it during the day. Don't brush it excessively as this can break the hair and don't tie it into hard ponytails as this will also break the hair.

I recommend to firstly get a really good conditioner and shampoo (Like one from the hairdresser), they can be expensive but they are sooo worth it, and get one suited for dry hair, they work wonders.

I also recommended to buy a good treatment and on days where your not doing anything important.. shove it in and leave it in the whole day (also a good idea to wrap your hair in a hot towel for a while, while wet with the treatment), then rinse out.. they say on the packet 5 mins etc.. but thats really the least amount of time you should leave it in.

Also after shampooing your hair, before you put the conditioner in.. try and squeeze out the excess water so your hair is just damp, then apply the conditioner and leave it in as long as you can.

And if your addicted to hair straighteners and blow dryers.. i know i am :P get some sort of heat defense gel/cream as im sure u know how much these dry out your hair. I use a kind of oil that de-frizzes your hair before i straighten it, but be careful with hair products.. i little goes a long way, you dont want ur hair to end up greasy.

One last thing that i can think of.. dont dye your hair too much..im a *cough* natural blonde :P and i find i need to bleach it alot, but what i do, rather than my whole head.. put a few streaks in and just do my roots, or use a wash out dye.. never ever use a permanent dye unless u are wanting to change your coloor!!

It may seem like a lot, but its all in the name of beauty ;) i hope that helps!

washing your hair to often strips the natural oils out of it anyway. Mayonaise is good on your hair! Use once a week or so. Put on hair and rub in, wrap hair in clingfilm, leave for 30 mins then wash out.

unless you have Afro hair which needs its oils then all you should need to do is wash and condition your hair. how often you do so is up to you but if your hair is very dry then every day washing will only make it dryer.look along the shelves of your local chemist or supermarket there are loads of differ ant shampoos out there one for every type of hair.

The main reason your hair isn't in good condition is because of the water you are showering in. Filters aren't only for your drinking water. You should definitely invest in a shower filter. The water you are showering in contains mass amounts of chlorine and fluoride among other pollutants. The chlorine..well, everybody knows swimming in pools is bad for your skin and hair..well..you're showering in that water everyday! The fluoride negatively affects your thyroid gland (among other things) which regulates metabolism. Also, these toxins are turned into a gas while you are showering because of the steam, so you are basically showering in a gas chamber! I highly recommend getting a shower filter and you will see a great improvement in your hair and skin, and your entire well-being.
