For tax information, you should check with your job as to the local tax rate, and then w/your country - if you are from the USA, then the first $80,000 earned overseas is tax free - - but double check this...
Well, you don't state size or standards or location, all of course issues.. I have friends w/apartments from $150 a month to $450 and then it goes up from there - - but, if you have never been, you might want to check it out first. I like Bkk for short visits but find it a very large sprawling place... lots to do but an appalling lack of parks and greenery... if this is important to you, you might want to choose a locale with this criteria.. After lodging, food is quite inexpensive as are taxis and movies etc.. by western standards..
If you want more specific info, feel free to contact me..

The rate will depend on the location of the place, whether in the city or the outlying places. As Spanky said, anything from US$150 upwards. However, in Thailand, if you can engage for a long term lease like a year or more, the rates can be reduced further. So this will be dependent on the place that you are interested in.
If you can provide the place that you will be working in, it will be easier to give you more information that you seek.

Where in Thailand ?? Then where in whatever city you answer ?? In central Bangkok, 30-35,000 baht for a 1-2 bedroom apartment is typical, approximately 90 sq. meters, in a decent building.

Where is the place of your job location?
I think it's depended on what's your requirement for accommodation as well?
Simply simply only 5000 Baht, it's enough, But if luxury apartment, service apartment. Sure you have to pay a lot.
My sister's condo, she paid more than 26,000 THB per month, then she decided to buy her own house it's more better.
So, could you please tell us the exact area of your job location, Is it in Bangkok? or where.
For Tax, it's better talking to your company admin.
Good luck

Well, I live in downtown Bangkok overlooking Lumpini Park and my condo is $2500/month. Luckily, I don't pay for it..my husbands employer does! Thank God! It varies greatly. They have a nice selection though. You should ask your future employer for help in this area.
