Not all humans are materealistic. Humans become materealistic when they see the world as a lot of people all of whom are higher above him in material gains. If you think of people who don't have money to buy a meal and millions who are lower than you in material gains.....then you are not materialistic

Materialism is just an illusory shadow caused by the non-existent idea of spiritualism. All thinking creatures want material things because material things exist. They are real. And when a thinking creature experiences something material that they like, they will want more of it, more often.
Feed a dog steak, and he won't want to eat his dog food anymore. Let a dog sleep on the couch, and he won't want to sleep on the floor anymore. Does that make the dog materialistic? Is the dog now breaking the 10th Commandment? Or is this simply a natural biological response?

It is said that 90% or so of what humans do is based on fear.
Because the body can be easliy damaged. We fear for what we
will eat. Where we will sleep. Will there be enough for everybody? Will there be enough for the future? Though
our Creator and Earth Mother provide for our needs on a daily basis.
Even our behavior, being critical of others, making fun, acting tuff. Is designed to keep people at a distance and protect our "space".

Understanding and controlling the material world was, and is, one of the keys to the success of the human species, therefore it is understandable that humans are interested in this understanding and control. Of course there are several other things which make humans successful, like communication, interaction, planning, and cooperation. But every individual has his or her own focus of interest.

Because they are under the impression that fulfilling their desires is the only way for total satisfaction. Once a human being realises that No matter whatever your achievements are, your satisfaction is only and only proportional to your contributions, the picture of the world would be completely changed. No more sorrow, no more stress, no more worries...

We should understand by simple logic that we actually are two pesonalities. One is we as our body and the other we as soul. Logic also tells us that we as body are perishable, and we perish because of the departure of the soul, therefore soul must have gone for its destination unknown. The knowledgeable saints will tell us that the soul is eternal and that actually is our true self.
But since ages eternal, we have been considering ourselves as body and therefore have got attached to body related Kins and pleasures. Since our minds and hearts are made of material the natural tendency is to get attracted to materialistic world. We need to seek the blessings of a true saint in order to get our minds and hearts activated and get a feel of the other world. That world is our true abode and we will get infinite happiness eternally once we are in our right place.
Without the help of a true saint, it is impossible to get the divine pleasure.

because we have one main goal in life, it's to improve ourselves.
Now there are people still improving theirselves by looking deep inside of them, but many others prefer the easy way. As they have a hard time looking for good things inside theirselves, they improve what they have outside themselves.
But it doesn't last, one day or another everybody ask himself for the real meaning of their lives and it's not the car, the television, the suit which makes what you're supposed to be.

because THEY have been brainwashed by the evils of money, wealth, power, corruption and LIES.
The mass media enforce this structure and the 'human' as the decades go on, is becoming more greedy, more selfish, more shallow, and even more of a consumer, yet sadly WE are becoming consumed by these very things on a daily basis. The only way things will change - is - we all need to equal and peaceful.

It depends on what you call materialistic. Some chase the almighty dollar because they are lacking something in their lives, but on the other hand I don't know what's wrong with working for and appreciating nice things.
