Psychiatrists are obviously over prescribing meds to children and adults; and end up killing some of them since society does not want to understand people who are "hearing colors" and all such described as mentally ill.
I disagree these "symptoms" are illnesses at all (I myself have no diagnosis but I have empathy towards all diagnosed by psychiatrists who think they're right.) Sick of psychiatrists to want to to lock up and drug up people until they drool.
Who else agrees people deserve to not be on medicines that contain heavy metals and lead to drooling ?
We need more patience with people and society only thinks theres one manner of dealing with those who believe they are or show signs of being psychic.
Psychics are pagans are the majority who get assaulted by psychiatrists. Also appalling Psychiatrists are THE highest paid job in USA.

Forced to go since their boss who hired them doesn't like them. Or anyone sees strange behavior in anyone can report them to the law enforcement who then drives them to spend night in a hospital which supposedly assesses them then if theyre not prescribed a drug there then they must go to a longer stay hospital if they have no insurance and forced to stay there and be poisoned with medicines for months.
Every doctor they met with deciding they need medicines and these person are not violent simply such mild "symptoms" of believing they saw a ghost etc. Theyre not harming anyone by believing these things.
Many of you are naive about others situations as you may be thinking alls voluntary. But actually very easy to get people locked up in these institutions if someone doesnt like them and files a temporary restraining order not since they're violent but since simply think they've sen ghosts or spirits. I am not meaning voluntarily gone for counseling.

I am addressing the issue of anyone can turn anybody in to law for "symptoms" and then from there a persons forced to go through the motions of staying at a facility against their will for months. And I know this happens all the time.
For many months a person's constantly harrassed for their beliefs and brainwashed and forced to say they need meds when what thy needs love and people not not trying to harrass and change them.
SO I am talking about forced entrapment (for months are the standard !, with no exercise hardly at all ! at most state run facilities). I did not mean a voluntary visits. And all the person did wrong was exhibit being a psychic. Yes they're locking up psychics for months now like a witch trial.

Ah but there was not going to be any "full-blown psychosis" from simply thinking one has seen something like spirits (theyre not screaming they did mind you someone has simply not liked overhearing them consider the spirit world as possibility).
There misunderstanding cunts like her go wanting to lock people up and not listen to them since doctors are the only ones who think they can see the future of someone.
Assuming right now for this person exhibiting only the mildest of symptoms would be a wrong action.
Thats exactly what should prevented... all the rushing into the future outcome of the patient predictions. Docs don't know the future either.
If you ever want someone drooling you sure disrespect humans !

Well, first of all, I think you are confusing "psychic" with "psychotic".
Secondly, any observation or conclusion about drugs being routinely over-prescribed may be a legitimate suspicion, but hardly an "obvious" fact.
I do agree that the public perception of mental differences and illnesses is often very incorrect and unhelpful. Undoubtedly, SOME psychiatrists pander to that influence.
I don't believe that ALL psychiatry or psychiatrists are "bad" or "wrong", any more than I do for any other specific profession or occupation. However, I am equally sure that this field contains its fair share of incompetancy, fraud and genuinely bad people.
It is certainly true that the pharmacy industry in general is not to be unquestioningly trusted, particularly since it became permissable to advertise prescription medications to the public. And side effects must be weighed against potential benefit. Personally, I would have to choose drooling over untreated full-blown psychosis. I think it is demonstrably true that appropriate medications, including psychiatric medications, can and have improved SOME people's lives immeasurably, and have actually SAVED lives.
ADDED: AHH, the system. Well, yes, it can be abused, and I am sure has been abused, but I do NOT believe it is rampant or "all the time". But I would reconsider if you were to give some verifiable cases.
ADDED: Well, how silly of me to think this was a good faith discussion. No matter what I thought of your opinion, I would NEVER call you or anyone else what you called me. And I am not talking about the "lil miss beotch" part either.
I am sorry to hear all these psychics are getting railroaded into the state hospitals, dang, you'd think they'd know....I have a friend who is truly a psychic, I will be sure to warn her. And wherever did I get that idea about psychotic?
Do I foresee another brilliant response headed my way? Do I dang near drool in anticipation? There. Now I have earned my beotch creds.

Actually, CEOs get paid a lot more than psychiatrists - I've yet to see a shrink make multi-millions per year, except for the occasional celebrity psychiatrist.
And it takes far more than simply calling the cops to get someone locked up - I spent 6 years as an EMT, and you could only call cops in on the MHL (Mental Health Laws) under certain circumstances, such as the person being dangerous. Simply claiming to be psychic (or other things that many folks would consider to be "minor delusions") isn't enough to trigger it.
Heck, synaethasia isn't even listed in the DSM-IV, so you'd have a hard case justifying keeping someone in a ward without some sort of extenuating circumstances.
Yes, I do think that there's a certain overreliance upon medication these days, though there's a number of reasons for that. And, yes, there's a large percentage of the medical field that holds a somewhat negative view of "non-traditional" religious beleifs/activities. But I also know there's plenty of people out there who claim to have some sort of experience with the metaphysical who have never had any issues with the medical community.

Wow, that's quite a statement you made there.
I respectfully disagree with you on some points.
Sure there are psychiatrists who see no problem in prescribing meds to kids and adults alike, without even checking out their situation thoroughly, and yes, THAT category of psychiatrists is more or less lame.
But then there's also the category of good psychiatrists (and psychologists, and everyone who works in that field) who actually are interested enough to help clients get their lives on the rails again, without urging them to take meds, just offering them if you yourself think it's the best option.
I really think you can't call ALL psychiatrists lame, not if you look objectively at the whole picture.
Just read your addition, that of course changes the initial question entirely!
I DO believe there are people who have psychic abilities (tho there are also a lot of Charlatans out there, as you may well know), and IMHO those people should NOT be locked up cuz of their believes, or experiences.
Mind you, I also think a lot has to do with how this person brought her believes across : if it effected her/his work, or if he/she was so absorbed by experiences that he/she lost track of reality a bit. (like if this person could not talk about anything else anymore than his/her experience, know what I mean?)

your right, maybe only 5 doctors out of 10 really lke their job and wishes to help people or further advance their fields of study. But, I have heard of many whom think its all about getting laid and getting paid. Yet everyone is responsible for their decisions and in every line of profession there are people who misdiagnose or purposely feed others full of medicine, expensive ones...... isn't selling diamonds to girls the same, it fulfills their a diseased desire for beauty? Yet, the money feeds the families. Same with with the big corps. Maybe the top few are seeking junkies as revenue, but to say that all the personnel in the corp making medicine for the sick have these kinds of intention is not accurate.
The worse professional I think is still a politician, because you may only find 1 out of the entire country who would of been a good politician, but he's probably thinking politics is too ugly......

It sounded like you were complaining about a therapy session. Not all psychiatrists have the same views as you put forth. Nor do they mention that "psychics" are pagan. You have obviously never met anyone who was criminally insane. You obviously do have a relative or friend who was "misdiagnosed" according to you. Do you feel better?

The help of a psychiatrist, is what got me through my childhood and certain parts of my adult life. I wouldn't have known what to do without them. I probably wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for a psychiatrist. Sorry, I don't agree with you.
