The primary negative emotions are anxiety (stress, nervousness, fear, etc), anger (frustration, resentment, irritation, etc.), and depression (unhappiness, sad, grief, "tired", low-motivation, etc.). They are the opposite of the main positive emotion, happiness (joy, excitement, contentment, peace, etc.)

You control them by quieting the mind. To quiet the mind I meditate and think positive thoughts.
The second technique is called listening to the heart. Listening to the heart involves paying attention to the actual feelings I am feeling in any given situation.

Good question - I think everyone had them but some people more than others and to a greater degree - like anger, jealousy, mistrust, but controlling is not necessarily a good idea unless you are gonna commit murder - I think mostly you just have to have these emotions and ride them out, understand and recognise them and then and learn how to deal with them in a positive way. It's not easy and it takes practise but observing other people's behaviour - and tell someone how you are feeling - even if it's a diary instead of a real person. Maybe reading up on the subject maight be a way. Hope this helps!

There are no "negative emotions" in that ALL emotions serve a purpose. We would not realise we were happy if we had never been sad for example. When things like anger, jelousy, sadness etc get out of control then they are negative, and as we want to be happy, anything that is not happy is seen as negative, however, as any bipolar person can tell you, too much happiness can also be negative!

For me the only way to control the negative is to find the positive... it is the yin and yang of life. If I work too hard for the negative, I have to work harder for the positive. Both are part of life and both need to exists like you. Writing down a list of negative and then find the positive and/or start writing a gratitude journal. Good Luck!

Biggest negative emotion is anger--it can be used to motivate, like the woman who founded MADD after her son was killed by a drunk driver. Another is guilt--also can be used as motivation to not make the same hurtful mistake again. Hope that helped. All control will get you is ulcers, channel your feelings into something useful.

negative emotions are emotions which make you feel depressed, anxious, lack self confidence i feel they can be controlled by your diet , see if there are any trigger foods. Having a good friend who will listen when you need them and give advice when you want it is a god send. trying to keep to a routine including exercise helps.

Netavive emotions are anger, hatred, jealousy, greed, etc.

They are very hard to control; but they can be controlled completely.

I can think of two ways to to do it. Both rely on awaeness.

mindfulness in zen meditation.

the sensations connected with the emotions are the key or a key. If you can feel the sensations and watch them pass away then you might be getting somewhere. Words are cheap. next time you get an itch, try not to scratch it. Just feel it as it peaks and ebbs and eventually passes away. After it passes, you should feel better in your mind.

negative emotions are some kind of sickness. One have to try to think wisely and to control them by positive thinking. However, when somebody is overwhelmed by negative emotions, he or she cannot see the reality as it is and everything seem dark or evil. The best solution for such state of mind is to drink pills for sleeping and to sleep for several hours until the mind and body regain its positive state.If you are in a situation of fight, extreme hate, jealosy or anger, you should be aware that you have demons in your mind in such moment and you have to see that you are deluded. Of course, you are not only deluded by demons inside you but you are provocated by evil impulses of other people. In such moment you have to save your energy and not return the hatred for hatred because such evil people just want to disturb you and to make you lose your way by making some evil deed or saying evil words that will be used against you later. You have to be aware that your negative emotions are your worst inner enemy and that outside enemy will join with your inner enemy to ruin you.
Never let your negative emotions rule over you. Remember that whenever you control your negative emotions, you make great victory over your demons and you accumulate great positive energy. So, no matter what, you should stay calm even when damage is obvious. The damage made by your negative emotions will be much bigger than the damage made by negative emotions of others.

You have to be aware that negative emotions are like storm. You just have to be protected from them while the storm ends.
Remember, whenever you control your negative emotions, you wins. Whenever such negative emotions control you, your enemies celebrate. So, do not let them enjoy in your misery.
First step is to recognise your negative emotions as such. When you see your negative emotions as they are, you can control them just like when you catch some criminal person in your house. So, you have to catch them, to recognise them and to separate them from positive thoughts. Negative emotions are like computer virus: at first they seem positive and righterious but later they show they evil nature and may ruin your health and path. So you have to have strong mind with ability to separate good and negative emotions. Please work on that.

You cannot control the "id" as Freud called it, you can try and work on the power of positive thought - it really helps, try it.
