it depends from person to person as i have seen so many of my friends they dont bother about their work or any thing else but only want to sit and chat, any thing done resonably with in limit is ok but if it is done ruthlessly it is bad .

Chatting is just a form of communication but then it turns bad if some people just chat for example, cyber sex, roleplaying, nasty stuff like that. Pedophiles are even rampant in chat sites. I dont even see the "deal" with cybersex anyway,,.
Personally chatting is not bad as long as the conversation is "appropriate" and no harm is done.

that depends on your partner... i chat lot and have good friends but before itself u need to tell your wavelength of chatting

all depends on the conversation if it's possitive it can be good. if it's negative it will be bad.
