How is intaking more calories and using more calories gonna help me gain weight or muscle mass?

I’m 5'6" 120lbs. My job requires lots of physical work such as using arms and legs all the time. (walking, lifting light weight stuff all the time and many times.) I work about 9 hours every day. And get 8 hour sleep.

I am going to gym 4, 5 times a week, lifting weights. I’m trying to eat healthy 4, 5 times a day.

I saw some improvements when I took off from work for 2 weeks. I went from 115 to 120lbs. but my weight froze at 120 for these 3 weeks when I started working again.

How can I improve my health without quitting my job?
Any suggestions?

Your weight maybe fine...why change it? The only way to gain weight is to consume more calories...try increasing your protein to help build muscle....but you work hard and go to the gym...sounds like your body is doing well.

Eating alot more with the more physical activity is good. Throwing in the extra meals is good too since you seem to have high physical demand that way your muscles aren't "starving". You could try to add more protein (good muscle food) and more carbs for the energy needed.

Also be sure to take a day or two off a week if possible from physical activity to give your muscles a chance to rest and rebuild.

You gotta put more calories into the system--try drinking Ensure or one of those diet drinks meant to replace meals WITH your meals. The work you do should put that extra nutrition into muscle, not fat. Fat happens when you take in a bunch of calories you don't use--storage. If you use what you put in by the work you do or other exercise, it will be used to form muscle.

You need to make sure you are getting protein into your system right after lifting weights (more more than 45 minutes) this will maximize your bodies ability to gain muscle.

Eating meat is one option, but drinking a protien shake is prob easier and more realistic.
