Media maligns Islam

Islam is without doubt the best religion but the media is in the hands of the westerners who are afraid of Islam. The media is continuously broadcasting and printing information against Islam. They either provide misinformation about Islam, misquote Islam or project a point out of proportion, if any.

When any bomb blasts take place anywhere, the first people to be accused without proof are invariably the Muslims. This appears as headlines in the news. Later, when they find that non-Muslims were responsible, it appears as an insignificant news’ item.

If a 50 year old Muslim marries a 15 year old girl after taking her permission, it appears on the front page but when a 50 year old non-Muslim rapes a 6 year old girl, it may appear in the news in the inside pages as ‘Newsbriefs’. Everyday in America on an average 2,713 cases of rape take place but it doesn’t appear in the news, since it has become a way of life for the Americans.

You can read something about Islam or Christianity (or atheism) on a site and know whether it is true or not. It doesn't make you an expert tho.

No they do not! You must hear the other side as well! You have to ask before shooting! Asking average people reveals their true intentions! The real nature of every religious or ethnic team, can only be revealed by research. For instance there is no match between Catholic Christians and Orthodox Christians. There are so many differences in the final spiritual outcome for the people that it is like we have to different religions that we are talking about. The same thing comes when we have to talk about Muslims or Indians or Chinese.

No, but people read and search for what they wish to read...
If you are anti-Islamic, you'll search for that, when you find something, you'll be very happy: "There's another people like me" and then you feel the matter is resolved.. Religions are a virtue, It's inside us.. We must refer to the Holy Books if we want to know... Many negative ideas about Islam were Given by Muslims who Invented Sayings and attributed them To the Prop[het to match their custom "un real Hadith".. And now, I think it's really hard to find the truth unless you refered to the Quran itself.

Good point. I'm a Christian that's what I know. I don't make blanket statement questions about any other religion or atheist. I've not read the Koran so I'm not qualified to say what Mohamed did or didn't do. I am however entitled to my opinion that he is a false prophet. It irks me when I see people, mostly atheist, make statements about Christians when its very obvious they have done no research on the subject. Mostly their so called research is "Umm, oh I herd somebody say this once"!!

i am no expert - i read a lot about different faiths and religions. not to be clever or religious, but to try and understand 'belief' systems and structures. I have come to the conclusion that it is a confused mess, ruined my 'mans' singular interpretations and fears, a way of controlling people and the way they live, although this has become much less prominant now, in these modern times, until the so called rise of 'terrorism' - there is now an increased 'fear' of 'things' that the majority do not understand, nor have reason to research, as the western world has mangaed to 'dumb' itself down to a very sda and pathetic level, due to media intrusion, biased reports, consumerism, dreadful television (reality TV shows) and corporate global greed. Plus the other problem is
so many faiths, too many gods, plenty of prophets and lots of sons of 'God' - and WORSE - so many many 'bibles' to read - you have to make your own choice!!

Who says he's an "expert"? Who dares to judge himself an expert after reading some? I only considered myself an expert if it is in my field of interest. Though I'm a Christian (Catholic), my special field are Jews and Judaism. That's all.
