I agree with her , i think the veil for women in Islam has been misinterpreted - Islam says that women must dress modestly covering all parts of thier body , however no where in the Quran does it state that a women should cover her face.
Tell the believing men that they shall subdue their eyes (and not stare at the women), and to maintain their chastity. This is purer for them. God is fully Cognizant of everything they do.
And tell the believing women to subdue their eyes, and maintain their chastity. They shall not reveal any parts of their bodies, except that which is necessary. They shall cover their chests, and shall not relax this code in the presence of other than their husbands, their fathers, the fathers of their husbands, their sons, the sons of their husbands, their brothers, the sons of their brothers, the sons of their They shall not strike their feet when they walk in order to shake and reveal certain details of their bodies. All of you shall repent to God, O you believers, that you may succeed.* (24:30-31)
*24:30-31 Dressing modestly, therefore, is a trait of the believing men and women. The minimum requirements for a woman's dress is to lengthen her garment (33:59) and to cover her chest. .

Thats true.. Veils shouldnt be worn during prayers, and hajj only.. Complete Veils that covers the whole face and body is not Islamic, It's a tradition in some countries that does not come from the religion.

Early Muslim women didn't wear veils, except for the wives of the Prophet. The practice was adopted from the Byzantines. Upper-class women in their society wore veils as a sign of rank; naturally, the Muslim women all wanted to wear veils after they learned that. You know how women are with fashion.

Muslims miss interpret a verse that women should cover their breasts with veils, so covering the hair is not required, but the Muslims and the christian nuns took it from Jewish traditions, which is not Islamic in any sense.

It's true. Covering the face is a personal as well as cultural thing, not religious. Islam only requires women to cover their hair and body, their face is allowed to be shown.

Anyway she is correct. Veils are use to cover the face only. Don't get yourself confused with the Islamic hijab which is use to cover the head excluding face, the length of which will cover till the stomach.
