They look back at Jesus and say that he died FOR their sins. So, no matter what they do all their lives, they are forgiven if they "accept Jesus".
Does it make ANY sense? NO.
This is a religion of convenience, where a dead man has been thanked for all sins so Christians can do all they want during a lifetime and then repent in the end.
The other day I heard someone say, "Of course Jesus loved Hitler, he was a Christian."
This is a religion of convenience, INVENTED by attaching divinity to a man and then saying he died for their sins.
Don't be thankful to Jesus, morons. You carry your own crosses.

Finally someone of a like mind with myself! It's rediculous (and unbelievably, stereotypically human) to create a belief system with rules that you can never follow, and then put in a loophole saying "If you say your sorry, it'll be ok" and go do whatever you like. I've never found any Christian that can live up to even the simplest of their own rules...Why can't these people grow up, and learn to just take responsibility for their own actions?

I wonder why some people think that they know so much.Salvation is not the only gift that comes from knowing God and accepting Jesus as your Savior. Grace is NOT a "permission slip" to sin! If someone has a real relationship with Jesus, you will not WANT to give into temptation, or do anything else that will grieve the Holy Spirit. And we are called 'simple-minded fools? Only a FOOL says in his heart that there is no God!!

Why can't you just let people believe what they want to believe? There's no reason to call Christians morons.

Christianity is more than "accepting Jesus." It also means that a person is supposed to TRY to live a righteous life. It means that they pray constantly, and do what God tells them to do.

Christianity sure isn't "convenient" for those who are persecuted for it around the world RIGHT NOW, and it wasn't convenient for the ones who were slaughtered in Roman coliseums in front of cheering crowds.

If Christianity was "invented", then why did people who were WITNESSES to the things Jesus did choose a violent death instead of recanting their beliefs?

The concept seems to me to involve two separate ideas which are highly suspect.

First, as you say, is the idea that justice can be fulfilled by allowing one to substitute oneself in to receive punishment deserved by others. This idea of substitutive redemption quite likely has precursors in Judaism and other early religions; I can't see, from a logical basis, how it really fits in with other theological explanations of justice.

Second, there is an immediately apparent problem with exactly *what* the punishment diverted from humankind to Jesus is punishment *for*. The answer we are given is that the original sin arising in the Garden of Eden is somehow "passed down" to one's progeny. I would suppose that the idea of inherited sin arose as a tool for control in the early religions: by asserting that a person's infractions will not only receive due justice in this world but continue to haunt his/her descendants for generations, an extra layer of deterrence is added. A person might not care too much for his own fate but still wish to protect those of his future children. Of course, these "infractions" could range from murder to infidelity to seething a kid goat in its mother's milk -- whatever is deemed harmful by the religious leader to keeping their people in line and themselves in power.

Try a more provocative heading like....

"JESUS CHRIST....God, or Lisence to Sin?"

I agree with you. Every body shall be accountable for his sins.
Bible says the Jesus is NOT savior.

Ezekiel 18:20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
