A number of years ago I recall one Lutheran pastor who gave a midweek Lent sermon at the church I attended at the time. What made me blink is that he went on the entire time about how sinful it was to read ads from the Sunday paper. Not for the greed aspect that you would automatically presume. But that all the stores were endorsing pornography because they had pics of both men and women in underwear advertising those products. It doesn't matter what religion or lackthereof you are, you still need certain essentials just because you are human. How does the ad cause them to sin like he insisted it does? I don't know anyone, Christian or otherwise, who is sexually attracted in the least to any of those models, nor is it a temptation of any kind.
