By that I mean a man that knows how to do things for himself. Cook, clean, rear children, etc, etc. w/o the aid of a woman. I've cooked for lots of women and they sure get all mushy and starry eyed about it. What up with that?

What's up with that?

I think it's the fact that when I see a man who cooks, cleans, fixes things, and has his own money, I see a man that can be a partner. If I need a kid, I'll get pregnant. It's nice to see that you won't be alone in the responsibilities that come along with adulthood.

Women are mushy about it, because they rarely see it. I personally like it, but am not going to get super excited about it because I think you should know how to do those things anyway.

I suppose you'd have to be a woman, who has dated, married, or otherwise lived with a man who refuses to cook, clean, etc, to really appreciate a man who does what you do. To me, a man who can do all that is not looking at me as a replacement for his mother, or a maid with benefits. He's looking at me as a partner in life. Guys who can handle household stuff like that are pretty cool in my book. :)

It's good to know a man doesn't need a woman, that way we know that he really loves the girl and wants her to be around for that reason, and not coz he needs her to cook and clean.

Wow, I would kill for someone who was able to do all that for me.
No, there's nothing wrong with you, maybe you struck some women who think you left them with nothing to offer you or, perhaps they don't like to admit they hate doing everything you can do so much better than they can. Some men don't like it either when a woman is capable of doing mens stuff.
