Ultraviolet. They see a color that is out of our range of vision. When we look at some flowers, for example, we see plain white or pink petals. But, to some insects and birds, they can see ripples of bold lines, like landing patterns! Within our range of vision, birds like reds and fuchsias best. If you're trying to attract them to your yard I would suggest hanging some old cd's from various places or some kind of rainbow refection producing ornaments. The cd's back side produces this effect very well and is also kinda nice to look at!!! I've gotten many more birds since I've hung them in my yard.
