well i'm from a british colony as far as my spoken english is concerned it's ok but my accent is not really good.

Why change it? If you really feel that it's a necessity to do so, you can see a speech therapist or some community colleges offer classes in phonetics or speech pathology that you could take.

I can assure you it is alright to get a colonial English accent, you might not agree with me. During my academic stay in Australia, I thought it's great to hear various accents, in other words, everyone has his/her own way of pronunciation. It's simple beauty of language. However, you can try conversing more with some close friends whose accent you've admired and request their help from them. I think they won't mind, you simply imitate and correct some key colonial accents to blend with the more pure, perfect English ones. Good luck.

Yep. Why would you want to change it?
I would imagine the only way of changing your accent is to be with and speak with people who have a different accent to yourself. But I think you will need to make a concerted effort to physically change it.
