No, that sounds like a fad diet. A lot of fruit has lots of sugar in it so it wouldn't be good for you at all. The best way to lose weight is to eat a balanced diet and excerise for three times a week for at least thirty minutes. I know you've probably heard it all before. Eating fruit may make you loose a stone a week but you won't be able to maintain that diet, and will probably gain the weight again as soon as you stop. Real weight loss takes time and effort and there is no quick fix.

These stupid diets drive me insane. For one thing, uh yeah, obviously if you only eat fruit for 2 weeks you will lose weight. For another thing, noone can tell you whether you will lose an actual stone- that depends entirely on you, your make-up and how much fruit you eat. And for another thing, it is not a healthy thing to just eat fruit. You'll probably have an upset stomach, stinky breath and all that fruit acid isn't good for you teeth.
And one more thing, just go on a proper bloody diet. Diets like this are fad diets, you'll be wasting your time. Pretty much anyone with half a brain cell knows that eating just fruit is not a sustainable diet, so you'll lose weight while you're doing it but when you go back to eating normal food you'll put weight back on, which means eating fruit for a fortnight would be a wasted effort and you'll be back where you started. People around you will think you're stupid if you do this and theyd be right.

Yes most likely you would. But you would also be creating several problems for yourself.
Firstly, by not having a balanced diet, you won't be getting the nutrients you need meaning you are more vulnerable to injury and illness. By not taking in enough calories, it means you will lower your metabolic rate and become more sluggish, tired, unable to concentrate.
Secondly, such a diet is unsustainable and the minute you stop that diet you will gain the weight back on again.
Thirdly, having that much fruit and veg - will probably lead you to have stomach upsets/diarrhoea which means you may then develop dehydration.
The best way to lose weight (and most importantly keep it off) is to gradually decrease your calorie intake and gradually increase your level of physical activity.

It may allow you to lose some weight but soon your body would start realising you were starving it of balanced nutrition so it would start to protest!! You won't have enough energy. You won't feel well - and you will probably give up because it would be boring!!
Why not try to lose weight with a good nutritional programme. I used a diet from A1diet and I lost a stone and a half in 6 weeks. I felt really healthy all the time. I didn't feel hungry and I have kept the weight off too!!

I read this too and tried it. I ate only fruit and drank water for two weeks but i did eat steamed meat and veg or tuna salads for my tea and lost nearly a stone but then i put it all and more back on when i started eating properly again. Now i've invested in a cross trainer and an abs roller so i can eat normally but also have some excercise and that works a treat. xx

yeah probably, maybe not a full stone but pretty damn near, I'd say. Did you see Spa of embarrassing illnesses on UK Style? This is pretty much what went on there, liquidised fruit with bentonite clay to clean out the intestines, with 3 colonics every day to clear out 'bowel plaque' I kid you not, and these people were passing YARDS of rubbery stuff that had been lining their bowels for years... AND they all emerged after two weeks looking great.. google 'the enema(sic) within' Guardian' and you should come up wit similar story. Good Luck. Hope I've not put you off..

You may do but you'll harm your body, you will lose essential body muscle that you need, which does weight more than fat. You CAN'T lose weight fast cause when you stop the diets you will put it all back on. There aren't many calories or protein in fruit which is important for well being. Eating it for a day or two is fine but not for 2 weeks.

I know diets like this sound like a good idea, but you have to be sensible.
Fruit is full of sugar, especially bananas, grapes, etc.
You also need protein and carbs and some fat in your diet. Yes, your body NEEDS fat!
Also, crash dieting, as this is, may lead to a big weight loss, but it will be a temporary one. Your body will go into starvation mode as it tries to cope with the sudden drop in food.
Your body is genetically programmed for survival and is very aware of what is coming in. It will work to keep you alive.
CRASH DIETS DO NOT WORK because the minute you start eating normally again, your body clings onto the food and stores it as fat in an attempt to protect itself from the next time it is starved. Thus, your weight will shoot up again.

Rubbish you should have a hearty breakfast a light lunch and proper evening meal.
By eating less doesn't mean you will lose weight its works the opposite way.
And to eat just fruit for two weeks sounds to me like its a very dangerous thing to do, you have also got to consider the damage you can inflict on your bowel.
If you are that concerned over your weight why don't you try weight watchers their very good, a Friend of mine started and she lost 12 pounds in two weeks.
Please do it the healthy way and don't hurt your self doing and end up being scarred for life.
Good luck and please be careful

Possible but excercise as well - can't say that you would feel any better for it though - you still need protein and carbohydrates in your diet! You may be better off eating a little often - than one or two big meals and combine that with excercise!
The trouble is with dieting - it is all well and good but before you really start to notice any effect - you have to use your body fat stores up - that is why people get disheartened when they diet - the body fat does not just disappear!
