DEFENDU is a complete method of armed and unarmed Close-Quarters Combat. The foundation of the DEFENDU method is rooted in the harsh and brutal realities of real world violence. The origin and development of this method rests in great part with the famed Lt. Colonel William Ewart Fairbairn.
The DEFENDU method is an effective & battle proven system of Close-Quarters Combat. It is NOT a "Martial-Art", it is NOT a "Sport", it is NOT for amusement or recreation!

Defendu is used by some militaries as their combative system. The fighting usually involves improvised weapon and melee strike with a firearm.

Here's the the thing about military combatives... I know because I have served. The #1 rule about military combatives is... don't get in this position, i.e. have a working firearm. The second rule is, the person to win the fight, is the one who's comrad shows up with a weapon.

Very VERY rarely are modern military forces engaging in a physical struggle. Military combatives are taught mainly to instill confidence, comraderie and develope the fighting spirit. (During training the instructors have you chant about killing and your desire for blood)

The world of military combatives isn't a secret death art. It's smashing their face with your boot.
