But how can this go well for you?
It's possible you should be selfish and forget about him.
What he's in for, for how long, and what else he's done matter a lot.
Also -- being involved with a drug user is NOT GOOD. Being involved with a violent criminal is NOT GOOD. Most young men in jail are at least one of those things.

I am sure he will remember you! I wouldn't tell him right off the bat that you like him and have feelings, but I think he would enjoy a letter from you. Be weary what he is in jail for. Be his friend first and see what kind of a man he is now. There are no guarantees he returns your feelings still but you will never know unless you first write to him!
