As far as Bianchi is concerned, the entire line of bicycles are quality bikes at every level, it all depends on what you are using the MTB for. Bianchi puts out several different levels of MTBs at different price ranges. Purchasing a Bianchi made in Taiwan or China is no different in quality than if it was made in Italy. I have owned 4 bianchi bikes, ranging from road to MTB, I have been happy with each one of them.

The vast majority of bicycles regardless of brand are made in China and Taiwan so as far as construction there is no problem.

However, as with anything, if you buy a cheap bike it will not perform as well as a more expensive one. You should, as a general rule, spend 2-3 weeks salary on a bike for everyday use, more if you ride in rough conditions or if you race.

Most mountain bikes are made in Malasia. However, you get what you pay for.

Look at the frame build quality (Box to round? Hydroformed?)

How good is the aluminium?

What sort of accessories/components do you have (Shimano, SRAM)?

Is it light weight?

Go onto a cycle shop site and see if you can find/cost up your components. If it is not that expensive, you know your answer. Basically, ride the thing. If it feels like your moving a tonn of lead and you feel every bumb.......

Luck
