It is not necessary but it will help you to understand the short section of aerodynamics you will study in ground school.
Pilots are not engineers, they have an understanding of how aircraft fly but they don´t need advanced physics courses to fly them.

Unless of course you want to get your training in the military then you better take all of the physics classes you can get into and ace all of them.
Keep in mind there is a lot of advanced math in physics courses.

since 1962 ive logged a thousand hours as pilot in command of single engine aircraft and found no NEED for a degree in physics... Bernoullies principal is helpful but far from required knowledge... the people who built the plane knew it... its helpful in extreme turbulence to be able to keep in mind youre flying because of the rules of physics and the universe and not a witch doctor slowly dancing circles and waving a rattle.. far more important is the ability to plan ahead... if the engine fails now what feild do i put it down safely in ... thats important and repeated every three minutes tops... where are we going, write it down, how high, write it down, what are the important things to look for, what altitude and runway are we going to land on how long is is it...you need to be able to set down and fly the whole flight start to finish with all possible variations before you go checkout the plane to see if it has any problems... for the sake of passenger comfort when you get into a strange airplane dont say things like whats this , wheres the throttle, oil pressure gauge etc.. instead set for a few minutes ( hands folded in your lap) and quietly study the location of everything there... airplanes love pilots who treat them gently and know whats going on...they forgive you more easily if you love them, dont tolerate fear easily( they think its disrepectful) want to be left clean and ready to go again... before you go somewhere in good weather be sure you are comfortable with very bad weather flying.. take a lot of training in what to do when things go wrong.. then youre ready to fly and enjoy your self..til then the plane will look at you with suspicion.

You don't even need to graduate high school to be a pilot.

To fly with the airlines, it helps to have a college degree, but physics is not required. An understanding of it, however....helps.
