Only one of my friends is a part of my religious circle. It is a non-issue.

Most of my friends are not part of my religious/spiritual circle. In fact, I don't even know what alot of them are, if anything. It doesn't matter one bit either way.

However when I was growing up, we (my peers and I) were told by the religious leaders at our church and pariochal school that we would automatically be damned to hell if we had even one friend or relative who was non-Christian. I didn't agree with that logic at all but no one else questioned it.

I believe friendship is the only relationship in this world that never has any requirements like religion, caste, money, education, qualification, qualities etc. You know what Indian president APJ Abdul Kalam an aeronautical scientist and a honorable man once told in a meeting, he has two best friends before his success. One of them is a muslim and other one is a christian by birth. What do you say?

While I would like for all my friends to become Christians, the fact that most of them aren't doesn't stop me from being friends with them. I see nothing wrong with associating with them. Several of my best friends are atheist or agnostic, and a couple of my closest friends are Wiccan. I also have a couple of pagan friends, and several Muslim friends.
My own husband is agnostic.
I just don't discuss religion with most of them.

almost all my friends have different religious beliefs from mine. they include muslims and christians and hundus and buddhists, while i'm agnostic. the conversation has often drifted over to the topic of religion without any problems.

I have had friends of all religions. I love them and pray for them and I don't treat them any differently then my Christian friends. Except maybe I pray for them a little more.

How can you witness to others if they are not outside your religion. I believe it's OK as long as you don't corrupt your ways and doesn't cause you to backslide.

I don't think anybody "should" join any religion they don't resonate with, even if it's mine. I'd be more annoyed with a friend who was "trying" to convert to my religion.

...Jesus answered that question... "do not be unevenly yoked with a non-believer"... what does Light have to do with darkness.

You can be-friend all people (and should)... however, if "they" reject you because of your beliefe in Jesus... walk away and bless then in His Name... Be careful with the word "religion".
What "religion" is God anyway....? ummm...? God asks us to have a "relationship" with Him... Love, worship etc. but He never established a "religion"... (it's all in The Book...great reading)
