How much beer or wine are we talking about? A glass of wine a day is usually thought to be quite good for you (decreasing your risk of atheroma thus decreasing your chances of cardiac problems). However, too much wine or beer is never good for you.
Firstly, you mention taking the alcohol to relieve muscle pain. If your muscles are really hurting, you are working your body too hard. I don't know if you're just taking about doing exercise or just general physical activity, but you doing to much physical activity is almost as harmful as not doing any physical activity at all. You need to look at changing your behaviour so that your muscles are not hurting.
Secondly, you talk about taking them for calories. That isn't a good idea, namely because a)you really need to be getting the calories earlier in the day before you are actually doing all the physical activity and b) while they both have a lot of calories - they are not efficient source of energy - you need to be looking a carbohydrates.

At the end of a physically hard day at work, your body and mind will most likely need to relax and rejuvenate. How you do that will depend on your body's metabolism and your minds focus. My suggestion is to find a quiet place after work and relax. Meaning no noise or activity. You may find yourself hungry or irritable. Tired or excited. After a short time alone in silence your body will tell you what you need. For instance more activity or a nap. Maybe food or news or even a hobbie that excites your mind or works your body. Beer or wine will numb the bodies needs after any activity, especially hard work so I would suggest neither until you feed the body and mind. Then have fun with what ever floats your boat.

Although men working at very taxing jobs would drink beer at the end of the day years ago, that was part of their ordinary daily calorie intake .
Theses days we eat much better and drinking beer or wine is just extra junk calories. You will get a paunch as your stomach will expand to make room for the extra liquid .Your teeth wont thankyou either as the acid and sugar will rot them, look at an alcoholics teeth.

a superb vast Guinness Stout might help loosen up and convenience you. by no skill ideas what they say with reference to the well-being reward of wine, beer has reward too. Reduces blood rigidity (hyper-rigidity) and it strengthens bones. Wine is superb, yet they do no longer call beer the working guy's drink for no longer something.

yes, but depends on your system, some get off stress and get relaxed when they took beer or wine why some faces more disturbances when they do so, so if your systrem welcomes beer or alcohol or it makes you sleep, while not take it after a hard toilling of the day. but be courteous in taking it just a little of it can make a difference, however don,t abuse it when taking it.so go on and relax your nerves and muscles

I would have to say for those reasons... no. You can drink a cup or two to enjoy your evening. They actually have health benefits. However, neither help relieve muscle pain (at a low healthy level), or give healthy calories.
