Im in the army and in the desert right now. Iraqi people dont hate us, they welcome us. Insurgents and terrorist groups that reside all over northern Iraq are the ones who attack us and their own people. Those are the individuals we fight to prevent them from gaining power and becoming a terrorist state that will bite us in the butt later on down the road. We are waging a global war on terrorism, where ever it is we will find it and eradicate it. I hate when I hear or read liberal bias and propaganda. All it does is kill the moral of the troops. Insurgents attack our bodies, liberal media attacks our spirit. Both are bad for troops. Please support us and dont tell us this war is wrong or for nothing, we didnt die for nothing.

I have no problem with anyone who protests the war -- whether or not they say they support the troops -- as long as the protester:
1) doesn't drive an SUV (bad gad mileage)
2) doesn't use incandescent light bulbs (uses more energy than fluorescent)
3) eats a minimum of red meat (livestock emit 69% of the world's methane)
4) and so on...
In other words, more action and less talk. Many people will run their mouth about the war, and fewer will volunteer their own lives to fight wars. But the rarest person of all is the one who will make the war unnecessary in the first place, by changing his lifestyle.
Soldiers have credibility because they live their values in their actions, by volunteering to serve and sacrificing their lives. To me, protesters have no credibility in truly supporting the troops if those words are not accompanied by meaningful action.

Yes. Wars are started by politicians not soldiers. You can support the troops while protesting the way they are used/abused by the political leaders.
Unfortunately in the past (namely Vietnam) some people confused the issue and took it out on the troops. This was disgraceful and hopefully now they realise and feel ashamed of their actions. Their protests should have been directed at the people that made the decision to send the troops, not the troops themselves.
Soldiers aren't naive and they realise that a lot of people are against the war in Iraq but they also know that most people support them and wish them home safe.

I defitnetely support what the American soldiers is doing outside because they fight honourly for America with their lives but definetly not the Bush administration that cause the America to be 'cheated' into the war and create havoc by saying that he is trying to maintain the 'peace' of the world and America.
Why not honest?
Bush said Iraq has WMD weapons but the UN found no such weapons in Iraq after the war. He did not appologize for his mistake and continue worsing the situation in Iraq. Some of the political experts said that he wants to overthrow the cruel regime of Saddam Hussien. If this is true, why do not use this as reason to overthrow Saddam? At least the American soldiers know what they are fight for in the begining and not realise they fight for nothing after the war like the reason of WMD weapons. This will bring the angriness and moral drop among the American soldiers! Please be honest with your(Bush) words next time or maybe no more chance for your president post for next time. This is the matter of live and death of the American soldiers on the battlefield!

Yes you can. For the soldiers, who deny this war is just, your voice will become a tool and an excuse for them to lack off and force their duty on those who trust in the Noble cause of this war. The result is, they will come back alive, but the others may die! For the soldiers who support this war, your voice means you stabs them in the back. They will be discouraged - depressed - panic and losing their concentration. The terrorists there will get them easier. But if we all support this war, both of these types will understand that people loves them and will support them in their actions; the victory will be easier!

One political views are up to them. You can be against war, I've not a problem with that. But when the protestation of the war becomes against those troops who are sent to fight it, I have a problem with that. They are under orders, and are going to be under a great deal of stress. It's up to EVERYONE to back our troops, regardless of your feelings for the war.

Of course you can, you're supporting them by voicing your opinion over what you feel is an unjust war. The best wish we can have for our troops is for them to come home safe and sound, and if that means ending the war, then so be it. Our soldiers have no choice when it comes to being deployed during wartime, so the public must be their voice. Don't be afraid to let your voice be heard, it's your right as an American and part of what our soldiers are fighting to protect. Also, write some letters and send packages of items they need over there, your kindness and support will not go unappreciated.

you know what... this isn't directed at the asker of the question...
all you conservatives who claim us libs are troop haters. i support my country's troops not by having a sticker on my car, but by organizing events to buy body armor for troops. i dont like the war. i dont support it, but i am still gonna give the brave dudes and chicks over there the best shot at coming home.
BTW i tried to enlist but MEPS found some medical sh it wrong with me and i appealed it for 6 months w/o any payoff.
so the answer is yes. 90% of those people there didn't support the war, but they gave to a good cause.

If you are protesting the war then you are working to see those troops defeated.
You cannot support the troops when your actions are encouraging the enemy.
