I hate to tell you this but the answer is yes. Then of course, unless you desire to gain the extra weight, people tend to become more depressed. My Psychiatrist put my on Wellbutrin combined with Cymbalta and the combination has caused me to lose weight. Yeah! I have been on both Prozac and Effexor in the past. Prozac not only made me gain weight, it did nothing for my depression. The Effexor helped some with the depression but boy did the weight go on fast. One other good thing about the Cymbalta is that it helps with pain and I have Fibromyalgia pain and this has been a help with the depression along with some of the pain.

I just started taking Prozac again after being off of it for five years. I lost thirty pounds in five months being on Prozac the last time. I would consult a doctor if you have any questions about the possible weight gain/loss. You should also consider having the doctor rework your pill schedule, taking Prozac and Effexor seems to be overkill, but then every person is different.

I also gained weight on Effexor XL-30 big ones and it would not go away with diet or exercise. I switched to Wellbutrin XL and lost it and then some.

yes - anti-depressants can cause weight gain but it can also be that some depressed people don't eat much when depressed so now that they are not depressed, they eat more.
drink lots of water. don't binge eat. eat. wait 20 minutes, then eat a snack again if still hungry but don't gorge yourself.

as a side effect of the drugs,yes though it is a bit of over medication to prescribe both of them at the same time,it will just increase the risk of bad effects.

YES, but it causes increased appitite. like my doc told me the other day, " eat greens" gotta cut down on the intake hon and don't blame it on the pills and just sit there and eat yourself into oblivion.
