I know about as positively as I need to know that God exists. There are many things in this world that we do not know definitively, yet we accept them as fact. For example, solar physics is not fully understood, yet I have no reason to doubt that the sun will rise tommorow. Only when it comes to matters of faith do we hear the hue and cry, "I need to see to believe" from the doubters.

Quite honestly, I am a bit glad that God does not appear in the heavens and thunder, "Here I AM You Wicked and Viperous Fools! Believe me, now?" Because if He did, we would no longer have any excuses for our actions and would all be found wanting. As things are today, I can hope that through my belief and my works that I will be found worthy. I don't think that I am just yet, so the longer I do not see that thundering face in the sky, the better for me.

I am not afraid of death, yet the ever-present sense that I will be found unworthy from my works as a Christian keeps the notion of death far from my mind.

You see, faith without works is nothing in the eyes of God, so simply "believing in heaven" or whatever will be insufficient. Even the demons cast out by Christ *believed*, so there is more involved in being able to rest comfortably and await the pearly gates of heaven.

Yes, like all Christians, I long for deliverance from this world, but at the same time I say to my Maker each night, "not yet, Lord, I am unworthy". I probably will be saying that on my deathbed with the hope that God will tell me I am wrong.

My question is "if you knew for a fact that there was no God then why would you want to live a better life? In fact, what exactly would 'BETTER' be. If there's no God there is no such thing as good and evil or right and wrong. To say something is 'better' than something else you must have an ultimate standard. If you don't have an ultimate standard, then everyone just makes up their own rules according to what they think is right. Hitler thought his way was BETTER. He just thought the blond hair blue eyed Germans were the superior race and they had the right to live and fill the planet. It was just social darwinism or survival of the fittest taken to the next level. The communists thought their way was BETTER and they killed 170 million innocent people in the process.

Well, since I know positively that there is a God and I have a personal relationship with Him and daily communication with Him...and since I already try to become more like Him each day and let Him work in my heart and life --- then I don't see how I could live better. There is always room for more improvement but it can't be motivated by knowing "positively that there is a God" because I already know that.

I know there is a God, read romans chapter 1 when you get the chance. Creation reveals a creator just like a building reveals a builder, a painting reveals a painter. Also, I know God exists internally as well. Where did the moral conscience come from? How do I know what good and evil is if there isn't an ultimate standard? Who is the ultimate source of good? Who is the ultimate source of evil? So romans 1 cleary says that ALL know of God's existence. To answer your question, I think apart from God's help, we are all dead in sin and we can try to improve our lives but there is a God shaped whole in everyones heart that they try to fill by drugs, relationships, power, money, fame, ect...

I would be lying if I said no. Of course I would, I think I'd have a better understanding of what this life is all about, and what my reasons are for being on this earth. I would sure like to know who put me here, and their reasons for doing so. I often feel this life of ours is really just a big classroom for learning. So far, I'm just a C student, maybe if I knew the teacher, I'd strive to be at least a B student. LOL

Even if I knew that there positively was a god, I would still live my life based on my personal morals and ethics. You should never compromise your beliefs, even for the person/deity that created you. If there was a god, he gave me intelligence and a sense of right and wrong so that I could make these decisions myself, not try to fit into someone else's idea of how I should live my life.

Yes, verily I say unto you. But the problem here before you come to a positive conclusion and emerge yourself to love Him it's kinda bit difficult. B/c by then you are old enough to have developed bad habits, bad notion about life, bad attitude and anything deemed ungodly. It's like you have ignorantly welcome evil to come in your life earlier than God. So everything bad becomes your inner evil advocate, resisting anything good you would like to implement. Kinda struggle of good and evil. I just hope in the end the good would be triumphant.

No. Not if God was like any of the monotheistic religions make him out to be. I would proudly go to hell with my principals and values in tact rather than submit to a god that would be so petty to constantly want praise and worship and so cruel to punish one forever in the afterlife. What kind of deity would create us and give us a choice of either believe or burn forever. - agnostic

for me not much would change.

and if he / she / it was so arrogant as to demand i should worship it before all others, i would suggest that humility awaits all gods just around the corner.

i would only have to learn should i wipe my *** with pages from the bible, the torah or the koran.

you religious looney tunes are the bane of mankind.

your pig-ignorant archaic beliefs cause wars and death.

i piss on all your gods
