I have not cut myself in 4 days..Now i want to cut myself so bad.I want to stop i need too.I would call one of my best friends ever,but it's like 3 in the moring where he is. he told me i can call him any time,but i fell bad i love him i dont want to let him down..So what can i do?Can you help me please?

If your friend is supportive and doesn't mind, call him. Otherwise, find something to keep you busy- your hands and mind. Good job for making it 4 days- that is a great accomplishment when you are trying to stop- it is very hard to stop- every second is a victory. Get out a book and read. Pick up some paper and journal what you are feeling- that was the greatest thing for me to sort through my feelings and identify what triggered my desire to cut. Don't feel bad for asking for help. So many people suffer in silence alone and don't get help. Asking for help is the hardest part and you are already doing that- be proud of yourself. And remember- quitting is a long process that takes alot of time and effort. You will probably relapse (just as the alcoholic and drug addict and smoker do). Don't beat yourself up if you do- it is part of the process. Identify where you went wrong and remember for the next time so you can make a better choice. I have a hand-held game of Tetris that I play when I get anxious or figety- it keeps my hands busy, engulfs my mind so I quit thinking about the other stuff. It cost about $10 at wal-mart. you could try getting something like that to help distract you when you need it. Good luck to you, be proud of what you have accomplished, and do't worry about letting people down- you are working hard at something that is very difficult. Everything we do (good or bad) is something we can learn from.

aw baby, i know how you feel... but great work, four days is so good! is there something that has actually happened for you to want to cut right now or is it just an urge? Do something that will distract you, or keep you busy... Colour-in (i know it sounds weird but when i was going through my cutting stage it calmed me down alot), read, listen to music (but nothing that will bring you down because then you will feel worse), write a letter to someone, and if you have something you need to get out punch your pillow (but nothing harder, you dont want to hurt yourself)... have a drink of water... or eat something... haha or answer people's questions on here to keep yourself distracted... i know the urge is very strong, but by coming on here you dont want to cut yourslef, you want help... if you need to talk to someone maybe call one of those support lines they have trained professionals to help people who feel how you feel right now, or maybe call your friend... It is early but if he said call any time, and i know if my friends were in trouble it wouldnt matter what time of the day it was... just try not to think about it i know it is hard... one day you will get past this, and you are on your way right now, by fighting the urge and asking other people for help... i hope you are going to be ok babe if you need to talk email me at little_purple_buttafly@yahoo.com.au, but dont forget the au or it wont work, good luck, you are on the right track to helping yourself get better!

Call your friend. It sounds like he really cares and if that's the case, then he won't mind the time.
