What moves you out of sexual conquest mode and into keep her around mode?
I once had a guy say something like
“She challenged me to do the right thing”
~~~ He said I never challenged him. I just followed behind
him telling him how great he was... how smart... what a great athlete. Adoring him got me f/d but no relationship!
What about a woman makes her more than a roll in the hay?

He needs to be "into you".
I like when she makes me want to be a "better man".
When she makes me want to succeed and excel in all my endeavours.
Don't stop the positive reinforcement, but he needs to think that HE should feel greatful to be with you and that you are a conquest that he has achieved but hasn't conquered.
Some of those cliches just seem to work.
(I usually just stick to answering the Real Estate and Renting questions but your question caught my eye - I'll go back to my own category now...)

It depends- on the man, and the culture hes was brought up in.
Some men, and some cultures, don't exactly hold women in high esteem. Worship and obedience is expected from a female.
HOWEVER, some of us guys also live in the world created by the feminist movement. We are so used to being told women are our equals, that we expect a level of proud independence in our partners. Anything less simply fails the standards YOU have set.
In other words, we want a woman who WANTS to be with us, rather than a helpless damsel who NEEDS to be rescued.

Men who don't respect you will never keep you around. So make them hang around long enough to see your good points before you roll around with them.

If it's sexual conquest to begin with, he doesn't respect you.
If all your doing is filling his head with lies about how great he is, how do you respect lies?
Be yourself. Let it be the conquest of finding out who you are, and what you actually think of him.
Answer to last question: self-confidence and self-respect.

I can tell you what my guy friend told me... that guys can say anything to a girl, but it takes the "right girl" to get them into relationship mode... the one that made him "fall in love."... and that if a guy finds that, he's "ready" right from the start..

Don't sleep with him, duh. Women alway give it away first then expect a relationship, seriously. Friends---->lovers---->sex make that a stone to yourself, and don't deviate from it, you will find what your looking for. Unfortunatly, yes that great guy who is and athlete and smart, ect... will probaly leave after he does'nt get sex, but that's not what you looking for anyway, yes?
