It depends on your local, county, state, and Federal statutes.

I don't know how your hotel operates, but my hotel requires credit card for payment. We process the credit card payment on the 1st of each month. Therefore we have never had to worry about this issue. As it is a hotel, I don't believe that you have the same rights as you would if it were an apartment or a house. I may be wrong, but you should have signed some sort of contract.
I would pay the bill or vacate the premises. Otherwise, I would contact an attorney about your rights where you live. I'm sure that the hotel where you are residing has already obtained an attorney and is aware of their rights.

in general hotel is either a day or weekly rental, and if paid by the month it is monthly, so if they are late, they can be evicted with that states notice, normally 3 to 10 days notice.

Would depend on the type of rental, written, verbal and so on

Depending on the state but... Hotels are generally pay to stay. You don't pay, you don't stay. If the police are called you should get the opportunity to move out. However, if you don't immediately vacate you could get arrested for trespassing and/or theft of services.

You signed some paperwork when you agreed to pay to stay there. Get that paperwork out and see what it says about late payments.
